Allen Central defeated Prestonsburg tonight to win their 3rd straight 58th District Title and 6 in the last 7 years. Scott Little pitched for AC and Chris Schoolcraft started for P'Burg. Schoolcraft gave up 5 runs in the first inning before giving way to Bobby Hughes who did an excellent job. Congrats, Rebels. Good luck to both teams in region.

From what I saw, Little had a great night on the hill. Prestonsburg scored mostly on bloopers and a stolen base here and there. They weren't hitting Little very well, but they learned to stick their bat out and poke it, and it worked out a little for them. I think P-Burg had about 4-5 hits. Little went all 7 as well striking out 2 to end the game. He looked pretty impressive. This kid has a bright future ahead of him.

Worked a little? Seems to me have it not been for that large first inning, AC would've been beat.

P'Burg's hitters had trouble in the first 2-3 innings, but as the game progressed, they started making more solid contact. There were a few hard hit balls to the outfield that the AC fielders made some nice plays on. P'Burg ran the bases well, and a few times they stuck the bat out, and the ball fell in "no man's land." It also looked at times that Little had some trouble finding the strike zone, especially with his changeup and slider. I'm not sure on the number of walks and hits he allowed, but I'd say most of the P'Burg base runners were due to walks. It wasn't Little's best game, but he had some nice defense behind him and that's what it takes to win championships.

Everybody knows that Little is a very good pitcher and respects him, but everybody has a bad outing from time to time. Why cant it just be said that it wasn't their best day and leave it at that. Even great pitchers can have a bad day.
Good observation strikeoutking.

Scott Little is a fine young man. He is a good high school pitcher, even better than most. Will he be MLB #1 draft choice? No he won't no one said he would be. I went back and checked Pacman posts and he has never said anything negtive about any player that i can find. Little does not have to prove himself to you or anyone else. He has pitched well aganist the best teams in the 15th since he was a freshman. This year has been different, AC is very weak overall with a lot of young players(who should get better). So Little wins some games this year instead of losing a bunch by 1 or 2 runs. How would you feel if Blanton or any other Johnson Central pitcher played on a weak team. Would you like them to win one every now and then just because they earned it. Well Little has earned a good season. He has paid his dues. I don't know how AC or Little will do in region. But you will never meet a better young man than Scott Little. I don't know what you think about Allen Central, I don't even care. But i am sure that Mr Little has never done anything to you. I have never spoke poorly of any player on this site. You need to do the same.

It wasn't a bad outing. He struggled a bit, walked about 4-5 hitters, and gave up about 3-4 bloop hits. Overall, he had about 10 K's (not sure, maybe more), he had the bases loaded once, and got big time K's when needed. And even when he was exhausted in the last inning, he dug down deep and pulled out a little extra to end the game on a strikeout. That's a great outing my friend. It wasn't his best, and he didn't strike out every batter he faced, but he got the win for his team. He pitched the ball well. He fought hard for his team and got the win, even through some struggle.

I talked to a few former players last night after the game who were there and said Little told them his arm started hurting in the middle of the game, that may have had a lot to do with some of Pburg success against him. Believe me when he is on there is no team in that District that can handle him.

I don't know if that was the cause of P'Burg's success, but IMO, Little threw more than he needed to.

Little has had alot of trouble out of his arm, and I truly hate that for him. He is a great pitcher, hopefully he will get it going again in region.

Congrats Allen Central. Shocked to see either of the 2 teams in the finals. Who is in there district?

AC finished the season 6-0 in district play- so I'm not sure why you would be shocked to see them in the finals. AC has won the 58th district 6 of the last 7 years.
