Way to go Dawgs!

Paintsville never had a shot with freshman QB.

Losing Allen definitely early didnât help either.
Taking nothing away from Hazard though. You line up and play who you have to play and they are a young team that no one was talking about. So congrats to them. And Paintsville, get healthy and stay healthy. 1A is going to be fun to follow going on this year.

But Fletcher and Campbell are seniors and Hazard will go as far as those two carry them.

True. Going to need more than two guys though to win 1A this year though.

Good win for Hazard. This was definitely a hard hitting game. Been nice to know Wymt was going to show it though. I would of still been there, but it been nice though. These teams in the east are so familiar with each other itâs not even funny.

Itâs a freakin epidemic at Paintsville. Always have QB issues.

Epidemic? QB issues? A kid got banged up and is out a couple weeks. Not sure how that translates to 'issues'.

I thought the freshmen quarterback played good for Paintsville. Paintsville likes to run the ball. So handing off to those Phelps speedsters makes life easier. He also made some excellent reads and runs in the game early. But when you get in 3rd and long itâs a tough situation for a first timer. I was impressed with his management. He did throw some picks, but Hazard finally started blitzing on those downs.

I also want to note Hazard has had a starting defensively lineman Cameron Caudill out for a 2nd straight game.

Congrats to Hazard!

Paintsville takes a step up in competition next week traveling to Big Stone Gap to play Union Virginia! Without QB Hyden they could get embarrassed quick in this game.

Hazard well coached team and will be tough out in playoffs. A lot for Paintsville to over come with injuries and freshman QB making first start but thought James played well as could be expected under the circumstances and has a lot of upside moving forward.

Theyâre a very good team but I donât see them getting by Pikeville in round two.

Big win for Hazard.

Find a way to limit Fletcher on offense is the key.

True Jet. We will be talking about that decision until the end of time.

I agree, the transfer (who is now at FD) is a very good athlete and good QB. Maybe he lacked a good attitude and leadership qualities. He has now played for 3 schools in 4 years. At some point, a person has to look in the mirror... I'll take a kid who is loyal any day over one that is only out for himself. I'm not saying this was the issue, but it makes you wonder with all the 'moves'. Just my opinion.

Simply meant for the last few years it has been an Achilles heel for the Tigers. Turnovers and inconsistency.

I agree 100 with this!! And we need to remember this is a kid and a kid canât move himself three different times! I donât blame the coaches at Paintsville for wanting to remove these poison from their system

^^You're right. Not blaming the kid at all. 9 times out of ten, mommy and daddy convince a kid to do what they think is best.

This is a bunch of crap, great kid and family I donât blame him for leaving Paintsville they had him playing RB while the coach was playing favorites. So let me get this straight the QB at the 1 team in 5A couldnât play at 1 A painstville last year. Ha ha what a joke

I can say I coached this kid in the past and thatâs not the issue at all,Matter fact is the furthest thing from the truth. He is a great kid with great leadership qualities The person that should be judged is not the kid it should be the coach that was not smart enough to play the best quarterback and played favorites.Thereâs no reason to even debate this just watch Douglas play watch the kids play and tell me who the better quarterback donât blame the kid when itâs the adults,His parents should be given a medal for moving him so would be given a fair chance and show off his talent
