Powell County 2020
#1
Powell loses 10+ seniors. leading receiver, running back, and tacklers. return some young talent on offense and multiple juniors(now seniors) on defense. thoughts on the upcoming season?
#2
Definitely will see some younger guys step up. May take a step back, but will be very interesting to watch the next few years. It will be interesting to see what the new head coach does as far as personnel and making the most of what he has

Have they hired a new coach?

I was told that they wasn’t in a big hurry to hire a coach yet.

What’s the holdup? Are they thinking Kincaid might change his mind?

That’s would be great for them

Hard to have a successful offseason without a head coach. No clue what the pirates are up to waiting this long. Seems like it would be better for both parties if they would go ahead and ramp up the search.

I would say they aren’t to serious in their football program

they already know their choices, 3 people have applied for the job. they don’t expect anyone else to apply so they are wasting more time than they need to

Then who is it going to be?

Football isn't a priority at Powell County. It's that simple.

I am afraid that Powell County is not going to be competitive in football anytime soon. Their youth program is not up to par with their competitors. It's that simple. They have to turn it around at all levels before it will translate into wins at the high school level. Youth and Middle School.

Need to get a football minded coach in their.

Mike Jones(former estill coach) is probably the favorite. assistants Chris Cornett and Joe wood have also put in for the job. should be a no brainer in my opinion

I'd say it's Mike Jones if he wants it.
