Covington Catholic at Boyle County 11/22
#1
Covington Catholic at Boyle County. Thoughts?
#2
Well, last year's championship game wasn't competitive at all. Has Covington Catholic improved enough to at least make it interesting? I don't think Boyle has dropped off much if at all.

My guess is this will be at least a 28 point win by Boyle.
#3
Cov Cath was better team last year. Cov Cath’s offense is pretty much just the QB, Boyle shuts him down and this game will get ugly.

Rebs can not come out sluggish like last week. Hopefully that is out of their system. I think Haddix has a couple of gears that we have not seen yet.....
#5
Boyle and it could be worse than last years State Title game!!!

We can hope.

Boyle by 4 TDs

Boyle wins this, but I'm not going to guess by how much. Cov Cath has had a great year on offense, but Boyle is going to be a different beast.

You're being nice, my dear. This will be part 2 of Boyle kicking Catholic ass. Boyle by as many as they damn well want, and Old School will laugh his ass off at the beating.

I think Justin saves those gears for Corbin's ass beating next week.

I don't think Haddix will need to change gears, Corbin loses to Ashland.

Bull butter. Corbin's offense will prove too much for the Tomcats.

I'm not sure which game I want to go see this week: Cov Cath at Boyle or Ashland at Corbin. This argument isn't making my decision easier!  Smile

If you want to see a competitive game I would think Corbin verses Ashland would be the best choice but I could be wrong Covington Catholic may surprise me against Boyle.

You're not wrong, Jack. Boyle will give Catholic an ass whipping of a lifetime.  40+

I was shocked when I saw the stats today that Covington Catholic only had 132 yards of total offense against Johnson Central this past Friday and Johnson Central had 293 yards of total offense, my only question is how did Covington Catholic win the game ?

Johnson Central fans say they cheated.  May be true, but pretty ironic, nevertheless.

Let me update my prediction. If CC had just 132 yards of offense against the worst defense I have ever seen in the history of football, then Boyle will win by 60+.  Running clock before halftime. In fact, I'm gonna go ahead and start the clock now.  BLOW OUT CITY!!!

They are Definitley A Top 5 Team You Still Cant put them above the Early 2000s Teams That went 47-0

IMO Boyle’s 2000 team was the best high school football team that I have ever seen play!

I think this team and 2000 team is about even. Boyle's line in 2000 was way better, but I think this years team has better athletes. AND....Montavin Quisenberry is the best player to ever play at Boyle County. Yes I said it!!!!

Not sure about the 2000 team but during Smith’s 47 game win streak I recall Boyle being ranked 7th nationally in a USA Today poll.

Most dynamic? Yes, by far.

Best team? No, end of discussion.

Boyle is really good this year but I don’t think that the game would be close between this year’s team and the 2000 Boyle team theoretically speaking, the 2000 Boyle teams line was light years better on both sides of the ball, the 2000 defense is the best I have ever seen play high school football in Ky, I believe Jacob Tamme was on that team and Matt Miller was the other wideout both were 6’ 5” ish Jacob had better than average speed and Miller was a track star the soon to be Mr Football Jeff Duggins was the QB and Matt Quinn was the starting tailback, don’t have time to list names but there was several D-1 players on that team, and one last thought speed didn’t bother that team because Smith’s philosophy was speed can’t hurt you if it can’t get out of the backfield and it hardly ever did.

I would agree with this.

Quisenberry MIGHT be the most talented individual player, but that team was better from top to bottom.

Quisenberry is one of the best I've seen.

Man Boyle has some great teams,  great runs and multiple dynasties.

I'm not familiar with the 2000 team but hearing some of the names Jack mentioned,  sends chills up and down my spine.  Guarantee that team was scary to face,  so is this year's team.
