Im going to make a bold prediction. Corbin will win the 2024 State 4A championship the way they looked tonight. This team played lights out on defense and laid some hits that I havn't seen in a long time. The offense has been on fire for a while this year but the way the defense is playing, I don't see Corbin losing.

The Corbin team that I watched tonight looked better than last year's team. I can't believe what I just saw. They look like one of the best teams in the state.

Congrats Corbin!

Corbin seems to be firing on all cylinders,  peaking at the right time.

Best wishes Corbin moving forward!

Not so bold of a prediction now that Boyle is out of it, watch out for Eddie James's group though. Good luck to the hounds going forward!

I havn't seen a Corbin defense hit like that and I'll include last year. Corbin looks to be playing loose and hardly gave up any yardage in the 1st half to Ashland. This is a tuff Ashland team. Corbin was just playing lights out on both sides of the ball. I was cringing at the hits honestly. I was paying attention to spacing of the defense and man coverage and everything looked as good as you could ask for and Elam on offense is one tuff cookie. As for the 4 teams remaining, no doubt they are all capable of winning it but I just think Corbins offense is too much and if Corbins defense does what it did tonight the next two rounds, then they are the going to be hard to beat.

I thought the same thing. Defense wasn’t as good overall as last years. But offense miles ahead and overall better.

Good to finally see my buddy, Myles Meadors, on the field making football plays.

Defense has been a lot better since Malachi joined the fray. Just a lot more pressure on opposing offenses now with another big talented body in there.

I thought the Assland putty tats would put up more of a fight than that

I thought Ashland came out very timid on offense and defense, especially offensively. After the first Corbin series and the first Ashland series, I knew the game was over and both teams did , as well. Corbin won the toss and elected to receive. That set the tone and the game was soon over.

The Coach Salmons affect... you're welcome fellas. Sounds like the hard hits have something to do with the tough nosed coaching by salmons and company... did no one in corbin think to prioritize that in the last 40 years? Go win a championship!

Salmons is the most humblest dude I have ever listened to when making a interview. He is just a nice guy.

He has simply done an amazing job. To take over a unit  that had heavy losses, especially on defense, and get them to buy in to his philosophy 100% is pretty stellar. And, keep in mind he didn't take over until the first or second week in June ,  with just a few weeks before the season opener . Pretty amazing job. I think Corbin has a keeper in Mr. Salmons.

Well I want to congratulate these young Hounds on a heck of a game and making this old man feel like a fool, they played some championship level football last night and I absolutely loved it….Meadors had a coming out party and he didn’t disappoint so happy for that young man hopefully he has enough games left to make some people notice him he’s special…

I kid him about being cocky, but it's not cockiness . It's ultra confidence. And he has every right to be confident in that team. If Boyle was my team, no one on here would be able to stand me for all the bragging I'd do. What a run those kids have had! WOW!!!

They are way too talented to go out like that. It was humiliating & there is no excuse for it. I didn’t expect a win, having to play at Corbin. But, I did expect them to compete. Ashland looked scared to death & played timidly on both sides of the ball. That is not Ashland football. It does reflect on SOMEBODY, though.

It would be different if Ashland didn’t have the players. But, considering the talent on that team, the product & effort we saw Friday night was totally unacceptable. Congrats to Corbin. They are a heck of a team & looked amazing in dismantling Ashland. But, Ashland basically curled up in the fetal position after kickoff & didn’t put up a fight. Beating up on the 16th region & falling apart in big games is old & not impressing anyone. Somebody needs to take a long look in the mirror.
