Final from pond creek

Needed this one pretty badly. Thought the boys played much better than they had in their first 5 games. Not perfect, but better. Thought Kaden Allen stepped up big in this one with defense and rebounding. Pburg needed that from someone and I’m glad it was Allen that stepped up. Good win for the cats!

Surprised by this score. Figured Pburg would blow us out.

Pburg really struggles down the stretch to close out games. I think we were up 15+ points in the first half but gave it up after halftime with stagnant offense and low energy. Early run to take a huge lead carried us through this one.

Pburg doesn’t have a bench. I think fatigue plays a huge factor down the stretch. Keathley (never gets tired), Allen and Napier rarely ever come out of the game and they can’t afford to. Problem is they start wearing down. If Allen and Napier conditioned themselves like Keathley does, you might not see this drop off. However that’s not the case right now so they wear down towards the end of games.
People can say what they want but Prestonsburg COULD be a dangerous team. The first half was a consistent double digit lead for them. They showed what they can be. Braxton is going to be Braxton no matter what. He never stops. But if you can consistently get Allen and Napier to play 100% the whole game, I feel like they can compete. Just gotta take conditioning seriously so they can last a whole game.
