Casey Huff to Floyd Central (FACTS)
#1
Parties met last night in Floyd and came to an agreement. Be on the lookout this week for them to fire current coach and Huff will be named the coach soon. M & M photography will also be coming to Floyd County this season

Kinda fishy. He takes the Assistant Principal job at KCC and now he’s going to coach a team in Floyd County? Can that even be possible? I look for Moore to stay another year myself.

Moore wont be there. Huff will be the new coach. Watch and see. Word spread last night by someone close to him. The offer has been on the table for a week now. He accepted the offer last night. Look for Moore to be let go this week.

Is their also an assistant principal position open or opening at Floyd Central? Will Huff be taking one or perhaps Shawn Hagers "Dean of Students" role?

Yes. Shawn Hager won’t be at FC anymore after the end of this year.

Why not fire the current coach first, then hire replacement?  This all seems very shady.

What has Huff done to be considered a good hire? He coached at Prestonsburg for a brief stint and went to Knott. If I'm not mistaken, didn't Jenkins beat Knott in the District championship this year? Nothing against the guy, but I don't see this being a major upgrade. If he isn't going to stay at Knott for an extended period of time, what makes you think he is going to stay at Floyd Central. Just my two cents!

Be crazy to take one job and then another at the same time. Unless he can handle it. We will see with time what happens.

casey is staying at kcc as assistant and will be on the bench with honeycutt

Only fact that I can confirm, is that there was a meeting w/ Huff on Tuesday, but other than that nothing has been made official yet. Again, the job is still not been open/posted, I'd expect more to happen whenever the non-renewal's go out.

Doesn't Floyd County send out non-renewals every year?
#12
Seems to be some shady stuff going on in Floyd County.
#13
This doesn't smell good.
#14
heard that adolph rupp may be showing high interest in this job.

Was the meeting to discuss open administration position at FC or the coaching job?

No idea on what it was about, just know there was one.

I mean this could be said any year for any reason. Not sure there’s a more corrupt county or school system in the state.

I'll second this. Floyd County is run by politics and board members. Not saying this is the case here. But when was the last coaching hire made in Floyd County, that politics wasn't involved?

For HUFF, it would be…

In 5 years. 3 different schools (One being PBURG, won 5 games)

After this, BL just needs to come open after this year and he’ll complete the Floyd County sweep. SMH.

Did he not play your kid? Anyone would've left Prestonsburg to go coach in the county they lived in. I think there is more to the KCC story than advertised. If he stayed at KCC, they would be a top 3 team in the region. Was he forced out or did he want to pursue other options?
#23
So the last 4 years, Huff’s had 2 losing seasons and 1 district championship.

Meanwhile Moore has had 6 seasons, 1 district championship and like 3 losing seasons.

What are we doing here?

Top 3 team in the region? lol To the rescue huh, sounds like someone was on his staff at PBURG.

If he was gonna have a top 3 team, why not stay and coach in his home county? Makes no sense.

That if Fc even opens up the job. Moore record is awful and yes he won (1) district. Other than that he really didn’t accomplish anything since taking over. How he wasnt let go after 23-24 season is a mystery but they have keep him. So I see him staying unless he resigns and then if huff takes over does he get Moore coaching staff too because lord knows I’m assuming they come with the job.

Never been on any staff, but my child has played for him. Thats why I stated there is more to the KCC story than him just taking the assistant principal job. I agree it makes no sense, that's why i asked if he was forced out or wanted to pursue other options?

My son only played one year for him. We enjoyed it. As far as the JV goes, I cannot answer that. I would assume that depends on who he brings on his coaching staff. Seems like his JV programs at both schools he's coached have competed. Is that more talent, his assistants or his engagement? Either of the 3 can be true, depending on who you ask.

In his 4 years at the HS level, I believe he has more L’s than W’s.

25-8 and 19-12 last two years.  Not too bad with a close loss to hazard in region.  I think he turned the program at knott around
