GREENVILLE, Ky. (AP) - Seven people died in Kentucky after
brutal storms raced across the state, leaving a wide trail of
destruction, officials said.
Four people died in Allen County near the Tennessee border,
Kentucky Division of Emergency Management spokesman Buddy Rogers
said Wednesday. No other details were immediately available, he
said.
Allen County dispatcher Sabrina Woods said a possible tornado
hit some mobile homes and crews were still doing search and rescue.
Three others - couple and their adult daughter - died at Nolen
mobile home park outside Greenville in Muhlenberg County, one of
two trailer parks hit in the county, Trooper Stuart Recke said.
Weather surveyors were preparing to comb the hardest-hit areas
Wednesday to determine whether the deaths and damage were caused by
tornadoes or straight-line winds, the National Weather Service
said.
