CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) - State officials are investigating how the body of an adult woman was mistakenly released for burial to the family of a 2-year-old girl who died in a house fire.
Department of Health and Human Resources spokesman John Law says a routine check at the state Medical Examiner's Office earlier this week showed that the body of Victoria Hope Starcher of Cottageville was still there.
