Estill County vs. Berea - Oct. 3
#1
Thoughts On This One?!
#2
Berea's schedule has been really easy this year so far. But this will be their first test. Estill names the score in this one. Go 'Neers!!!
#3
Last night was a little closer than I expected. Must have thought the starters would still be out. Estill will get back on "track". The will "steamroll" Berea.
Estill 38 Berea 12

good luck boys :]

Once again another cupcake for the big blue of Estill. Berea cannot play Beth Haven every game. Estill will come out with more of a killer instinct. The Engineers in a laugher. 38-13 Go Blue! A fan that cares.

This is the kind of thing you see on a Powell County thread. Fans bashing their own team. A true fan, in my opinion, uplifts their team, not kick them down. Estill is playing good ball and I don't understand this at all. If you don't like what you see, then don't come. :Cheerlead

As I thought most of the feedback I would recieve about my comments to do with a soft schedule and a boring game against Fleming would be taken as a negaitive attitude towards our team. Not at all the case, I am and will always be an Estill fan I simply asked, "do we have a passing game"? because that seems to be one of the most discussed topics on Friday Nights. As for the Fleming county game, just because I mentioned that it was a boring game does in no way shape or form label me as a non supporter of the Estill county football program however it was very nice to see coach Niece in attendence. I almost forgot, I will continue to be present at our games and support our young men, I will speak only for myself but if every one that I have spoken with would comment I am sure it would take a while to respond to all of them. I think we have a very talented team, I just don't think they are being prepared for the playoffs without some type of passing game and better competition to ready them. But as we all know the schedule for the season it what it is and nothing can be done about that. To put it in a nutshell, as a fan like all fans I have high hopes for this team in the playoffs but if we get behind against a good team it will be hard to overcome without a passing game at all. A fan that cares!!!!!!

Very True! The past has proven this of any run dominated team. If you get behind by two scores against a good team, you are beat unless you can throw the ball, at least to loosen the defense. Line up and throw it down the sideline out of bounds just to show you are willing and the other team has to honor that. It was a rare appearance for Coach Niece I would have to say. BTW, you are not the only one who has said it was an aweful game to watch, meaning boring.

I don't think that is much sarcasim. Estill will have this one by the half unless something strange happens. Berea, however, does have a pretty decent line and some team speed but not enough to handle Estill.

Alright guys,
You all speak like we don't have a passing game. We have a good passing game. We have had no reason to throw the ball. We average over 300 yds per game. We throw when we want to throw not when others want to see it. If we were to start throwing the ball I'm sure there would be complaining about that too!

The double wing has an excellent passing package. I am looking to the future games, as long as you are doing it game speed in practice then you should be fine come time to use the passing game. I don't think anyone has questioned Coach Jones offensive knowledge, or at least they shouldn't. He knows more offense x's and o's than anyone I have been around. The only reason to do it more is to get it perfect. We need to put down the daggers, all knows Estill's running game is better than good. Just make sure we are prepared for post season. No reason to not be in the Regional finals with this bunch.

I doesn't seem to matter how many were in Red and Black or Blue and White.

Why bring up Powell Co? Fans have opinions, some of it may be true, some not. I don't think calling cupcake teams, "cupcakes" is bashing your team. It seems people would rather see a 7-6 loss to a quality Breathitt team than a 48 plus to 6 win against a Pineville, Phelps, Knott Co, or any winless team that is not good enough to prepare you for the playoffs. That is what counts is the PLAYOFFS. It is great to be 10-0 or 9-1 until you get into the playoffs and that is where it comes to an abrupt halt. Louisville Central was 5-5 when they went to the playoffs, you think at the end the fans remembered those five losses, I don't. TO BE THE BEST YOU HAVE TO BEAT THE BEST!

I think estill will win this one, both teams are much improved. I think coach Jones and his assistant coaches does a very good job with the kids. I have never been around a bunch of coaches that knows football the way they do.Good Job Coaches and Players.....

Powell has a very much improved team and will be a team to watch in the future.
