Pikeville will get to know how it feels to have the clock run straight through due to them being slaughtered.

I love how the intelligent people of this website continually bash Pikeville. Yes, Pikeville will more than likely lose this game by a large margin. I'm guessing Boyle wins by 21 points or more, BUT at least Pikeville is trying to get better by playing tough competition. I don't think I can say that about many other teams in Pike County besides Belfry. Congratulations on beating teams that everyone can beat while Pikeville gets beaten by GOOD teams.
I'll take the learning experience and improvement from playing tough teams over the false sense of accomplishment any day.

After what Boyle did to Johnson Central I say Boyle runs away with this one. I say most of the crowd will be gone by halfway through the 3rd quarter.

When you enter a game where your opponent is favored by a large margin of points, how does it help your team? It possibly could, but going out there and getting man-handled throughout the game is not good for any team. No matter how talented they are. Players get frustrated and make mental mistakes that could really cause problems within' the locker room. Players could get roughed up more so in a game against the state's best than against the state's average.
Pikeville has always played tough schedules, but they honestly don't have what they had about 5 or 6 years ago. I do believe that they have the right coaching staff in place to be successful and get Pikeville back to where they used to be, but this season is a rebuilding season for Pikeville and hopefully their players, fans and community will be patient enough to let Howard work his magic and get Pikeville back to their glory days.
Best of luck to the Panthers!

I like the tough schedules. Those games don't really mean anything, and I would rather keep seeing what we want to be and get hungry, which I hope is what happens, then to get a big head for going 9-1 against cupcakes.

Boyle wins BIG. 58-0.

To be honest I could really care less what the score is cause this is a meaningless game for both sides. I just want our boys to go out and play hard, have fun, and learn as much as they can from this in order to get better.

After watching the JC vs. Boyle Co. game, if Pikeville can limit their turnovers, especially inside their own 25, and not allow the big play then they may be able to keep it close for a while. Pikeville's size matches up well with the Rebels, but overall team speed goes to Boyle. I think Boyle will win by around 14. Coach Howard will correct some minor flaws in the teams game this week and most Panther fans will be pleasantly suprised. Best of luck guys.

This game could be called "Copleys Revenge". The only reason it was scheduled in the first place is because Copley saw the writing on the wall and found a way to leave the players he swore he cared for in Pikeville a nice parting gift.

I like Boyle County in this match-up by at least three scores.
Good luck to both!

HAIL PIKEVILLE! Wrote:To be honest I could really care less what the score is cause this is a meaningless game for both sides. I just want our boys to go out and play hard, have fun, and learn as much as they can from this in order to get better.I understand what you are saying about this being a "meaningless" game for both sides. It won't mean much two months down the road no matter how it turns out. That said, Boyle County approaches every game like it's the state final. Couple that with the fact that it has been a rough week for Boyle at practice (due to a sub par performance against Rockcastle) and there will be a very focused bunch of Rebels on the field this week in Pikeville. Good luck to both, but GO REBELS!

I'll take Boyle Co. MacShara will be too much for the Panthers to contain.
