When they start playing tougher team and winning them then we can make that argument but for now we cant. SV has i long we to go still before the can be consider the best team :lmao:

Other than Belfry, yes they are.

Belfry is not Belfry.Pike Central beat Boyd and Boyd almost beat Belfry and Valley beat Pike Central easy. That is my story and I"m sticking to it!!!!!

Those theories never work. The Patriots killed the Cardinals, the Steelers beat the Patriots, but the Cardinals were almost victorious over Pittsburgh. That doesn't make much sense does it? Theoretically like you're saying, the Steelers should have wiped the floor with Arizona, but that's why they play the games.

This is high school ball not the pros!I feel Valley could Belfry right now!
#9
I just want to know one thing..what is the combined record of Shelby Valleys opponents as of today?

This statement just supports against your claims..they beat Boyd County " in a scrimmage " by 2 TD's.:thanks:

I am having a hard time even understanding these posts anymore..I mean just read what you type out loud to yourself and see if it makes any senseConfusedhh:

Hard to make that claim unless you play them all.
#17
lets see how valley would be if they played belfry teams, would have been beat like a drum, belfry was in both games they lost...
#18
Valley isn't the best in Pike Co. but they are one of the top two and that is very impressive considering the coaching debacle of this summer.

Believe me, Belfry is the best team in Pike County. It is still not even close enough to have a thread to make an argument. SV has a nice team and should do well with their season. However, Belfry is still the team to beat in this area even though they may not be as powerful as some of the teams in the last few years. Beating Pike Central and Tug Valley proves nothing. No team in Pike County in the modern era, other than Pikeville, has ever, and I repeat ever, beaten Belfry. Until they do, then threads like this are useless. A much more legitimate thread would be, "Is Shelby Valley better than Pikeville? and should Pikeville schedule either Shelby Valley or Pike Central instead of teams like Boyle County?".
#20
Shelby Valley is not the best team in Pike County...FACT! IMO they are still that same sub-par team, and I will think that until they beat someone thats actually a challange. So far they have played Tug Valley a team which lets face it isnt the best of the best. And then they played Pike Central which could have went either way with out some bad decisions by Chapman and staff. I think just about everyone expects them too beat Knott County. So if they beat Lawrence County then we should have this debate. I wouldnt put them ahead of Pikeville either. Pikeville has played 2 great football teams and that will pay off in the long run.

scrimmages mean very little

Honestly, I think Valley and Pikeville need to start a series. I remember when I played Pikeville players would say "We're too good, playing Valley would be wasting our time." Not any more, Pikeville would be lucky to beat Valley now days.
#23
I pray to god that this thread wasn't started by a Shelby Valley player. Belfry is still the best team in the county. SV beat a lackluster PCC team and Tug Valley is flat out terrible. They should go to 3-0 after this Friday. But Knott Central is far from a football powerhouse. SV needs to work hard in practice to beat Bath and especially Pburg. I think that no one comes close to Pburg in the district. Remember Belfry has won over 100 wins this decade. SV 41

And that 100 wins gets you what this year? I just think Valley could play with Belfry.Valley is better than people think!

Belfry still has the best player/players and coaches. Shelby Valley has improved their program and I personally think that is great. However, to say that SV is the best in the county is ludicrous. At the district tournament last year, I had a solution for the SV/ Belfry debate. SV was laying in to the Pirates on the basketball court and I suggested that they should have played the first half of the game on the basketball court and then switch and play the rest of the game between the football teams on the football field. It probably would have been a pretty even matchup. Remember that when making such wild accusations.

Honestly if Shelby Valley were too beat Belfry by 100 points it wont mean anything if they cant get by Bath County or Prestonsburg. We all know Belfry will go too war with Sheldon Clark too get out of district. It dosent matter who has the best record in the regular season or who beats who. If you dont do that in November its all over. Belfry and Pikeville will be ready for the playoffs...Will Valley? :dontthink

Dunno where you've been, but Pikeville would be lucky to make the playoffs.
