Who Am I?
#1
Okay, here is a new one . . . . . .

Lets see who can figure this one out.

Whoever guesses this one can start the next "Who am I"

I am a record setter.
I did something in high school that had not been none is nearly 40 years.
I have been losing my hair since high school (5 years ago).
I am sponsored by a major shoe coroporation
You probably won't know me because I don't participate in a main stream sport.
I like to yell (real loud).

If you need a hint--I will answer yes or no to any question.
#2
i have no idea...

is the sport tennis?

is it a bowler?
#3
Leroy Jenkins?

^Fits the yelling part.
#4
No--the sport is not tennis (but that word is fairly close)
No--it is not bowling.
No--it isn't Leroy.

A few more clues:
*This MAN has a "cro-mag" head (very strange looking)
*The high school record that he now owns previously belonged to a current politician (the state starts with a "K")
#5
Am I american?
#6
is it in fencing
#7
Yes--I am an American.
No--the sport is not fencing (remember--the sports name is "close" to tennis).

Another hint: (and it is kind of a "trick" hint)
*I went to "South Lakes" high school.
#8
*The high school record that he now owns previously belonged to a current politician ....Is the politican Jim Bunning?

Man this is a tough one...

#10
I don't have any clue as to where to even START with this one.
#11

Basketball is a mainstream sport..

No. (Good guess).

Correct branch of politics
Wrong Sport.

A few more hints:

*I said before that it "wasn't a main stream" sport. That may not be the truth. This sport is at the overwhelming majority of high schools
*He participates in one of the hardest (but most recognized) events in his sport
*The person that held his record previously is from Kansas.
*The person that held his record previously was also a world record holder.
#14
Track and field is the sport?

is it in table tennis? lol

thetribe Wrote:Track and field is the sport?

CORRECT!

It should be easy from here.

One more hint:

*This person runs in an event where the current world record holder is from Morocco.
*This person made it to the Olympics in 2004--but didn't make it to the Olympic finals
#17
Maurice Greene

No--but you are definitely making progress.

Hint:
*Longer distance . . . . .
#19
15000 meters. Old record by Billy Mills?
#20
Or is that 10000 meters?

CatDawg Wrote:15000 meters. Old record by Billy Mills?

Good guess--but no.

But this is relational in a way.

*The "old" record holder also went to the same college as Billy Mills (which was Kansas). And it was in the same era. If I tell you his name--it will be too easy.
*As far as the event goes--when you look at 15000 meters--it is VERY close to the literal sense of that event--but in actual meters--it is a significant difference.

Was it Alan Webb?

Ding, ding, ding, ding, ding!

We have a winner!

I didn't know if anyone would ever get that one. I was as "intentionally vague" as I could have been. Great Job!

The bomber is on deck. CatDawg--you get a little credit also--you were right there--and it wasn't like it was easy.
#27
I wouldn't have even posted his name if I had realized BB had already but I was still on page 1 didn't realize we had page two already. I kept thinking Billy Mills the entire time but I would have known better if I would have thought about the politics portion of the hint. Good one however.

I helped anticipate a huge change in the NBA.

I am a hall-of-famer.

I had a short time span in the NBA, playing only 4 years.

I'm a two-time Olympic silver medalist.

Who am I?
#29
Did he play college ball in the South?
#30
No.
