Pretty sweet deal for Boyle/Knox. Play in regional finals to see who faces off against Highlands. Don't count out Lexington Catholic in your region either!

Sort of confused here. Most have asked to move up to 5a so how is it a favor to put Collins in 4a? From reading posts on here, many teams would jump to 5a if the Khsaa would let them.

My point was the ease of their district. You would think they would have toughened up the district they were in considering they will have a higher enrollment than anyone else. More "small picture" than "big picture". More to do with district then class.

I personally don't like the new classes lasting for 4 years instead of 2. A bunch of things can happen in school districts over a 2 year period.

It's still at least one class too many. But for what is on the table, it looks about as good as it can. Some nice competition in there but will likely only be a two or three horse race in most classes in any given year.

Not sure as to how far it is from Knox, but I can leave Boyle at 6:00 pm and arrive at Russell County High School at 5:50 pm.

LWC lives in Russell County. When he is in Rockcastle he allways jokes around and says leave here at 5pm and get to russell county at 4:50 pm

I have to agree. There is no rhyme or reason when it come to this organization. They list schools by attendance and then jockey them around. These justifications make about as much sense as which transfers get approved and which ones don't.

Just got back from a JV game at CovCath. It was closer than our new district rival Taylor County.

Absolutely nothing against Taylor Country. But this is a 'district'. 82 miles and a drive of 1 hour and 39 minutes one way to play a district game.

KHSAA did a very bad job.

But in reality this whole realignment points to the fallacy of the six class system. It is at least one or maybe 2 too many classes. The fact that that you have these sort of gerrymandered districts blatantly points that out.

It means a lot.

Instead of District 8 having to play HHS or Covington Catholic in round 1, they would've had to play Knox, Rock, etc.

Instead HHS, Covington Catholic, etc should be playing Boyle, Lex Cath in round 1.
