Pulaski Co. 42 Shelby Valley 15

I figured this score would already be on here but I didn't see it. I didn't get to listen to much of this one but I know that the Maroons were up 35-0 at halftime and McQueen had a 92 yd Interception return for a TD if I'm not mistaken! Congrats Maroons!!

It was a running clock in the second half. Eastham ran 2-3 plays in the 3rd qtr then he and the rest of the starters came out. I was listening to the radio and they said he was 14-14 for 180 and 3 TDs. Not bad at all!

Yeah I heard that too, that an amazing stat no matter who you're playing!

If the thread title is accurate, Pulaski only scored 42 points, so how did the game achieve "a running clock"?

Doesn't the rule specify a 45-point spread to run the clock?

You are correct! So there couldn't have been a running clock.

Great game by the Maroons! Man, why was this game ever scheduled, I will never know. That big of a team playing a team like Valley will never end well. Was Valley's QB hurt at some point?

From what I heard, Pulaski was having trouble finding a team to fill out their schedule for this season and Jeff Norman offered to play Pulaski if they would travel to Shelby Valley.

It was a running clock in the second half. Shelby Valley's coach requested it and PC granted it. It was ugly from the get-go.

Wow . . . a losing coach actually REQUESTS a running clock at half time when his team is down 35-0?

Some of these teams/programs need to make a decision . . . hire a coach or shut down the program.

What a joke.

In his defense, the starting qb had just been knocked out of the game by the PC defense. He had other injuries piling up as well. Shelby Valley was just over-matched and the coach was trying to keep from getting more players hurt. The running clock really was the best option, to keep players on both teams healthy and just get the game over with.

If both coaches agree the clock can be ran before a 45 point spread. On the last play of the second quarter SV's QB was knocked unconscious and was out the rest of the game. SV hadn't threatened a score anyway and the coach was going to be with a back up QB. So I saw nothing wrong with him running the clock.

BTW, SV got the ball twiced in the second half and scored both times.

Sends quite a message:

When the goin' gets tough, run the clock.
#14
The message I got was, lets try to stay healthy in the last game of the season that has zero meaning.
Then come back strong next week in the playoffs.

Yeah, let's see how that one works out for the Valley. :eyeroll:

Second string QB Corey Griffith came in and did exceptionally well from what I seen in the 2nd half. Dont really know the stats for him but he had a very well placed ball for the 2pt conversion.

Really unfortunate this game was even scheduled, no one benefited, SV lost their QB and it was just a long bus trip for Pulaski.

Congrats PC
