I think that was the point of this movie. I have always wanted more back story after seeing the original, so I'm glad someone is giving us a back story.

I hope to watch it later tonight.

Your right it shows his back story how he grew up and life style MM grew up in.

Well, sounds like the movie got mostly good reviews from you guys, so I guess I will have to go see it.

One question, though. What is this 'psych ward rape scene' that some of you have mentioned? Is it something that happened before he escaped?

The rape scene is how MM escaped from the psych ward in the version I saw, I havent seen the final version yet.

I have to say, I really liked it. I'm glad that I got some back story, it makes them all more interesting now that we see the past and psychological side of Michael Myers.

I just got back and I loved it!! It made everything else make a lot more sense. One thing though that I personally didn't mind but some may is that they didn't eave out any details of the deaths... Very brutal..

Now is there two different versions or something. Anyways, so far things sound prett good.

There is a "directors cut" version online circling the internet right now that includes a rape scene at the psych ward, but that is the only difference between the one you'll see online and the one you'll see in the theaters.

*SLIGHT SPOILERS*
This movie is really good. The first 30 minutes or so we see Michael as a young boy and how his evil side really starts to show. The next 20 mintues we see his sanity slowly slip away completely in the mental institution. The next hour, which is the remake portion of the film, is actually a re-imaging of the film. Some scenes are re shot word for word, but others are completely altered. Rob Zombie has put evil back into MM, which has been sorely lacking for years. Going in to see this, I hope no one is expecting to hear corny one liners and half assed death scense or a poor cliche' slasher story line, because this is much, much more. This movie really makes Michael Myers embedded into the minds of everyone as the epitome of what you never want to run into in a dark alley.

To me, the original movie did just that. If Rob Zombie's version can come close to being as good as the original, I'll be impressed (and somewhat surprised).

Ah. Very mannerly for Rob Zombie to leave that clip out of the movie! lol

I've got one question: does Michael still do the thing where he covers himself with a sheet, then puts the dead boyfriend's glasses on over top of it? Smile

That may be my favorite part of the entire first movie. I still crack up whenever I watch that scene...

ROCK ON!! I was afraid Rob Zombie would have thought that scene was too silly, and may have taken it out for something with more gore...

It's good to see that Zombie recognized that scene for the genius that it was, and left it untouched. I will give him credit for that.

When he told Micheal that it wasn't Lori's fault, it was his cause he failed him. Whatever the hell Micheal did to him, he never got back up. I figured he died cause he was never seen in the movie again.
