Coach Welch has said that this years South team will be the fastest team that he has probably ever had. The big question mark with South will be the O-Line and as always, run defense. If the O-line can come together the offense will score in bunches, Dethredge has a great group of receivers to throw to in Pritchard, Mitchell, Rader, Hale, and Byrd. I know that Pritchard, Mitchell and Rader are in the 4.6 range. Pritchard was the fastest at the Western camp held at Corbin. Jason (Juice) Mitchell transferred back to South Laurel back before basketball season. He will play multiple positions on offense and corner on defense.

Defense is definetely the concern for South, but they will have alot of speed on the defensive side of the ball as well this season. Just have to see if that can translate into success.
