To be honest, Whitley could have made this a lot worse if they wanted to open up and throw the ball. They were basically practicing their ground and pound game after last week.

Congrats the the Colonels!

Really thought this would be a lot closer game, it appears to me Coach Chappell has those kids moving forward better than most of us thought. Congratulations Colonels!!

Looks like the magic is waning in the old magician. Whitley physically whipped Bell and made them like it. If you disagree check out the ymt highlights. Drawing a check is all fine and good but old Amos played the Colonels closer last year and the difference is Dud played an easier schedule. So Dud better produce some immediate benifits or they may finally figure out (like Taylor Co did) there comes a time when a name is just a name!!!

Wow congrats to the Colonel nation! The way they physically dominated Bell is a true testimony to this coaching staff after giving up over 400 yards rushing to Rock a couple weeks earlier! I still think this game was a lot closer than some think. The score was 7-6 forever. Two back breakers for Bell was the interception which they returned all the way to the Whitley 15, but then went 4 and out. Then the Bell receiver that dropped the TD with about 5:00 minutes left in the first half was crucial, he couldn't have been anymore wide open. After that Whitley drove the field to go up 14-6 at half and the rest is history.
Again, very impressed with Whitley County. I look for them to run the table, win their district, and make some noise in the playoffs!

Credit to bell for keeping it a 7 to 6 game for a while. That was due to mainly running the play clock down to 1 before every snap in the first half. I think the possession time of the first qtr was like 9 minutes to 3 and was pretty bad in the 2nd qtr as well.
The second half is where Whitleys numbers and physicality dominated. Whitley runs in about 3 or 4 new kids every play.
Whitley is still a good football team. No doubt. Corbin is at worst a top 5 3A team in the state and Rock at worst is probably a top 5 team in 4A. Neither were bad losses and Whitley could have won both.

I guess the 5 backs didn't show up to wear Whitley down. Whitley County could be a very tough out come playoff time with all these underclassmen getting valuable playing time. certainly bodes well for the future .
