Congrats Deven!
I, myself, like to see a dunk. As someone said it gets your team fired up and your fans into the game and heck it's 2 more points. I like to see it no matter the player's size or if he's on my team or yours. Seriously - how many high school games do you see a dunk in?
Keep 'em comin' !

It is actually amazing the progress he has made in the past few years. I don't think he was pulling down double-doubles on a regular basis his freshmen and sophomore years like he is now. Maybe his dad can post his year end stats from his freshmen and sophomore years and then post this years stats to compare them to. I am sure there is a big difference.Devon Adams is one of the most improved players in the 15th region. The kid played extremely well in the Pikeville Invitational tournament and was named the most valuable player and this was most deserving. He also played very well in the all "A" tournament against Shelby Valley and Paintsville. Anyone that says he has not improved doesn't have a clue about basketball. As a freshman he played on the district tournament champoionship team and last season Pikeville was the runner up team in the 15th region. Sure he needs to get stronger and he will and just stick around and watch him perform because barring injury he will be one of the top players in the 15th region along with Clevenger and some other young players for Pikeville. Another thing about Devon Adams is that the referees call the very picky fouls on him as the kid gets very few breaks whan playing and you never see him complain. Officials give him few breaks and he handles it very well. One thing for sure is that Shelby Valley and Paintsville are going to have to go through Pikeville to get to the state tournament. It has happened before that Pikeville has pulled the upset and it could very well happen again. Without a doubt Valley and Paintsville have the best talent in the region but this region is known for upsets come regional tournament time. Just remember Devon Adams will be a force before he graduates from high school. Pikeville has rebuilt their basketball program in three years and it will get stronger come next year as their players play very hard. Don't act to surprised to see big upsets in the 15th regional ttournament this year.

I agree, I never have been a huge fan of the kid but he has gotten a lot better from last year.

You can never have a thread that discusses anything that has to do with Pikeville that least of all complements a player. We are not Shelby Valley or Paintsville so be prepared to be told how little or terrible we are in comparison.
I, however, will tell you that those of us who have watched Devon play at most of all the games can really tell of his improvement. Todd May has been a huge part of his change and he is getter better. I think over the summer he will change. There is an old cliche that says that basketball players are made in the off season, not during the season. The reason is you can really work on your game, attend camps, work out in the gym. These are some other things that Devon can be doing over the summer. Keep up the good work Devon and continue to get better.

I just dont understand that out of 14-16 dunks he had this year, there is a thread on one dunk in one game.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

Never the first round blow outs like it seems we have these days. After practice, for 20 or 30 minutes, players that could, or even come close to dunking did it as a ritual sort of thing. Turn the boom box on, start dunking, or jumping up, doing pull ups on the rim till you get high enough to dunk. I will admit that a dunk isnt the best shot in basketball, but a good dunk will get your team and our fans fired up.Yea i agree with you but a win is alot more important than a dunk....
