Im sorry, but Im going with big blue bobcat fan, this years bell team is no where near as good as the team last year, they had a college kicker, one heck of a QB, a good RB in Greer. Basically they had better weapons. Bells new QB cant air it out like Zachary did IMO. Bells passing game last Year opened up there running game just as well. Dont get me wrong, Davenport, that kid is special, but most teams look for bell too run, they suspect the pass but bell is a run heavy team having a first Year starter at QB. The Bell team last year had trouble with the almost exact same boyle team, now that all bells superstars are gone, except for a feww, and you almost have an identitical boyle team, thats why everyone will go with boyle, if bell makes it to boyle, lawrence may knock you all off, i dont see that happening, but hey anything can happen, its the playoffs!

Apples for apples,
Bells and Boyle 10 game schedule
including last game that hasn't been played).
Bell teams played win/loss total 53 wins and 37 losses with 7 of these teams with a winning record and 3 with losing record.
Boyle teams played win/loss total 46 wins and 45 losses with 6 of these teams with a winning record and 4 teams with losing record.
If these two meet it will be a great !!

Merrick was a loss, Zachery played well but Madon is playing well also (at this point in 08 Bell had 926 passing yards and 60% completion precent, in 09 Bell has 1052 yards passing with a 66%). Look at the stats not a lot of difference. Greer was a very tough back and had 4 great years, but the truth of the matter was he was banged up and injuried at the end of the year last year and did not play well down the stretch but kept battling b/c he was a very tough kid and a competetor. Davenport is very explosive and healthy. Hilton is running well, Mills is running well, and Carton is always a possibility.
At the begining of the season I would have agreed 100% about the loss of Merrick. But at this point in the season Madon is kicking most of the kickoff's lately in the Endzone or inside the 5. He is punting well also (38 yards per punt) and Hilton is hitting 85% of his PAT's in the last 7 weeks. They however have not shown the ability yet to kick FG's from much distance. So special teams are not a weakness we all thought early in the year.

i am surprised they have not shut this one down yet

This post is not crazy. Anybody with a lick of sense would pick these two teams in the final's. Message board posters "some of them" think they actually have something to do with an outcome of a game. People get tore all to pieces if you talk about a possible matchup down the road. Its comical as it can be. Im sure bell and and boyle county's coaches are taking one game at a time and preach that to their teams. You guys are not coaches and you have no team so quit wasting speeches on subjects that are elementary to anybody who knows football.

it will be a great game my heart says bell county but something deep down into my stomach is saying boyle will win a close one and truth be known i will probably cry just saying though

I have not had the chance to see Boyle Co. play this year, but according to all stats they look pretty tough along with alot of experience. If both teams meet in the state semi finals the game would be held at Boyle Co., and that being said you have to alow 7 - 10 points for the home field team. So if Bell Co goes all the way up to Boyle and wins it is way more impressive than last years win. I have to go with Bell Co. in this one. Every body says Boyles better, more experienced, but were talking about high school kids aged between 15-19, we don't know how they are going to react to the pressure, this game is going to be the biggest game of the year for both teams. Good Luck Bell Co.

I will asure everyone that Boyle has placed Bell on the back burner right now. Before a meeting can ever happen, Boyle has to win over a very good team. People can say all they want that Lex Cath is down, but I didn't see it. Boyle has there hands full and not guarenteed a re-match with the almighty Bobcats yet.

Keep in mind we are talking playoffs. The caliber of teams with kick return men will force Coach Hilton to squib to avoid runbacks. He has always done that even with Merrick. Merrick was hitting 94% of kickoffs out of back of endzone for touchbacks. He had a harder time when the weather got colder. We are really talking field goals here. Merrick had two field goals against KC in regional 5 point win. After game, Coach Mills said, "Merrick beat us!" Knox had scored two touchdowns to match Bell's two. Bad snap on one extra point. Take away the FG's and KC wins by 1 pt. The fourth quarter field goal in Boyle game forced the two-point attempt....or the touchdown would have been the winning margin for Boyle. Merrick's only attempt in bad conditions in championship game as not good....but his 51 yd. second half punt inside the ten......set up the safety that was the winning margin for the Bobcats. Placekicking will be crucial for Bobcats in the regionals and beyond! It could be this year's teams "Achilles Heel."

hmmm bobcat dad, i recall seeing you in a different post about Harlan Co and Bell and someone stated stats between bell and harlan and you said "Oh my, since harlan has better stats im going to pick them to win state" Practice what you preach. Stats dont tell the better team. Bells team last year would kill this years team

What were we all thinking, Maybe all of 4A should just forfeit and just give it to Bell......What did you guys have to talk about before all the Boyle posters showed up here?
