Seen on the internet where Gate City (Va) lost to Richlands (Va) 40-6.

Richlands could beat a lot of teams 40 plus. Getting beat by Richlands isn't a good measuring stick for how good or bad Gate City is???????????

Richlands is a good program but they lost a lot from last year. They aren't nearly as good this season and getting destroyed by them doesn't help building up Gate City as a quality opponent.

Of course it's early in the year and hard to judge but I'll be surprised if the Bears don't win big.

Richlands is comparable in KY to a team like Corbin. They would definitely be competitive against similar sized schools, but against the elite smaller schools, and quality teams from larger classes they would typically be out-manned.

This year. Richlands traditionally is a good Class 3A (VA its AA Division 1 I think) school most years. They lost a lot from a talented team last year. Good comparison to old Corbin squads because Richlands is always about power football.
