I just think now everyone is figuring out over in paintsville that he isn't the best thing since sliced bread. people wonder why he doesn't have a state championship???? GO CARDS:Cheerlead:Cheerlead

LOL. He doesn't have a state championship because of alot of reasons. SC used to be a basketball school. He made it into a football school. He took a team in EKY and played against powerhouses like highlands. Thats pretty impressive. I've seen some of these kids around the state with personal trainers and all the camps money can buy. While at SC i seen kids that had to hitch rides to practice because their parents didn't care enough to take them. I've even seen Matney himself drive to get kids. He has done more than win. He also made them one of the top wrestling programs in the state and at one time in the country.

Sheldon Clark wins but you have to be a little concerned whenever you force 7 turnovers and only win by 8 points.

In any case and in any sport a win is a win!

This game makes me appreciate Boyle County even more. Boyle slaughters Johnson Central but in this game, JC has 7 turnovers and only allows 22 points to Sheldon Clark!!!!

Back on subject. Sheldon Clark versus Johnson Central.

Great job cards, but there is one thing i have to say. You win as a team and you lose as a team. Austin wouldn't be able to get his passes off or kp, avery, matt wouldn't be able to get their yards if it wasn't for the line. It seems that the offense or defense lines never get any praise from the newspaper or tv. Sc is a team not just 1 or 2 players it takes them all. So congrats. To the whole sc team and coachs....

The frustrating thing is that only 3 of the fumbles were forced. With the other 4, one was a snap that wasn't handled properly and with the other 3, the ballcarrier for some unknown reason just dropped the ball, twice with nobody within 5 yards of the runner.

However all three of the interceptions thrown were terrible choices by the QB/RB.

CatDawg, if you truely want these threads cleaned up, look no further than your own as being the instigators.

No trying to turn any topic around with any denial, but your comments had nothing to do with this thread to begin with, did it? But like always, you and your other two buddies have to get on JC threads and get it started. Right? lol

If getting schooled means having your team hang on to the football better than your opponent, then yeah he got royally schooled.

The fact is that JC moved the ball well against SC, and the defense played very well. They did not even punt the ball first time, the whole game. When you have 7 turnovers and in 3 other instances recover 3 other of your own fumbles, to stall drives, you not gonna be able to even beat a school for the blind.

Nobody is making excuses, it was an embarrassing performance. Perhaps the most embarrassing since Matney has been here. That, no one will deny.
#70
I agree with several of the above posters in that it is hard to beat anybody when you turn the ball over that much. Turnovers will lead to a much better team losing to an inferior opponent.
#71
Gentleman,

Let me refresh your minds on post three. KEEP IT ON THIS GAME or you will be banned. This is beyond old and doesn't need repeated. To my fellow Lawrence County fans enjoy on Lawrence County threads, if you have something good to offer to a Johnson Central thread pertaining to their games then you are welcomed to do so. However, if you continue to stir things up then yes you will be banned. The past is the past and this needs to end. Lawrence County will not continue to win forever so I expect the same from the Johnson Central fans in the future.

I agree with you. This was a embarrassing performance by JC BIG TIME. Hopefully next week the eagles will be able to pull it together and get there first win of the season.

Russell has won 2 state championships and that argument has been made against Ivan several times, but i think Matney won't win one b/c 5A is just so good......there are too many top notch teams you have to get through to even get to Louisville.

Wow... Mr. Kimball is comparing SCHS to the school of the blind.. wow.. that's all i have to say.

Hanging on to the football is MORE important than many other football fundamentals. It's just as much part of the game as blocking and tackling.

A back that habitually loses the football may need to be playing another position, no matter how fast/strong he is.

i have to admit i was wrong on this one and was glad to be wrong. great job cards
i would like to see some stats though if anybody has them.
or if somebody could feel me in how sc offence did and if they passed alot or run the ball alot and what worked for them?

qbdad2011 Wrote:This game was a game of hot potato, JC dropped the ball over 15 times, only 7 were recovered by the Cards. SC fumbled the ball 4 times only 2 were covered by Central. JK got picked 2 times, once by Ian Bertling, once by Cody Slone who also picked the halfback pass that was on SOT. It looked to me like JC has what so many other schools have: A good QB that runs alot, and a good RB and thats it. JJ JUDE & JK Hall is the team, same for Breathitt Fugate and Haddix, you can not win a game with two amazing players if they have no support. Plus like Breathitt, both JK Hall & JJ Jude play both sides of the ball every down?!?! This is why JK was carried off the field twice tonight, and the same for JJ Jude, who I was told had to go to the ER after the game with a concussion.

I'm a Cardinal Fan and they played a good game, congrats on the win! Several players stepped up tonight, Senior Cody Slone, Matt Slone, Junior Avery Ray, Cory Crum Sophomore KP Skyles played well until the ankle injury, Freshman Tyler Oconner, Chase Lafferty made a heck of a tackle near the end of the game...Austin Stepp played a great passing game, only the have 4 flags threw on passes....150 yards passing...oh wait after the flags 41!! If they completed a pass, boom the yellow hankie was flying!

Great win Cards!

Were you even at the game?

JC did not drop the ball 15 times. They fumbled 7 times, recovering 3 of their own. Sheldon Clark did not recover 7 fumbles, they recovered 4.

JK Hall was not picked 2 times either. JK threw one interception, Ross Sanor threw one, and JJ Jude threw one.

Also please try not to twist things out of context.

I did not compare SC to a school for the blind, and fballfan2009 was not referring to SC as being inferior.

Mr. Kimbell you have to over look qbdad2011. look at his name that tells you everything! be sure and not put sc down even though you wasnt. or he will try to make you look bad.

I think it my be time to give ross sanor a true chance at the qb position. Nothing against jk but i think he is better served as a running back.

you may have something here JK has great speed and i think he would work out at the RB position.
