Yeah they do have a really good quarterback in Boggs but can he win the game himself? At this point in the season and with the weather changing it seems to favor the Dawgs more then it does the Hawks. The Bulldogs for the most part have done a great job of protecting the football minus one last week. The more physical team should win this one.. No one can say the Hawks are going to win by 3 or 4 td's.YES BOGGS is an outstanding QB, they also have JUSTIN SMITH very good rb.TRIVETTE is an awesome lb.RUNYON,CLINE,COLEMAN,CARLET and MAYNARD at dl.PUGH AND HOPKINS at wr.THESE are just the seniors, they are all very good players(I hope I'm not forgetting anyone). We don't have the same athletes as PC or ASHLAND,we got our own.I put these kids up against THEM though and the HAWKS did beat P-BURG and SC last year.

Pugh and Coleman are juniors

We beat a team called Rockcastle County, have you heard of them? Last time I checked they are doing pretty good.

What is the overall record between these two schools?
10-03-2011, 12:11 PM
The only games I found between the two were in 2005, 2006 with Lawrence County winning both games ( 49-7 2005, 28-12 2006.). Does anyone know if they played before that?

Just talked to Eugene athletic director at Pike Central and just wanted to let everyone know this game has been moved to Thursday night at 7:30 at Pike Central. Both schools are out on Friday is the reason no game on Friday. I'm ready for some Thursday night football. Woohoo Go dawgs!!!1

After they beat PCC on Friday the answer to that question will still be nobody.

Jammer2525 Wrote:The game against Belfry may have been a loss, but from what I seen Boggs still had a great game, and I do recall that you even had Belfry fans saying so on here.
I personally consider Boggs a very good QB and probably one of the Top 10 QB's in KY this season. With that said, Belfry was not his finest hour last year as he went 19/40 for 247 yards with 2 TD and 3 INT's.
In addition, despite defeating Pburg last year Boggs didn't have his best performance going 12/33 for 215 yards, 2TD, 1INT.
All those stats are what PC reported to the KHSAA.
I don' think Chapman is intentionally "inflating" his stats whatsoever. But until Boggs can put up similar numbers against the best teams on his schedule it can be considered a valid point that his numbers can be partially attributed to the Hawk's weak scheduling.

Now I can not verify this but am told that The Dawgs did split a two game series with Green Bay,winning the home game in the early 90's. It was I believe a squeaker 9-6

He also raked up a ton of yards with the ground game at that game as well. He's dual threat QB.
So since this game has been pushed up, can a mod edit the date from 10/7 to 10/6?
Thanks.

"- Pike County Central will reimburse the KHSAA the out of pocket costs of the outside investigative assistance in the matter for in 2010-11 school year, approximately $3,000"
So what exactly was "wrong"?

But he had over 200 yards rushing with 2 more touchdowns.

Just want to say how proud i am of the dawgs improving week to week, the players the coaches have seem to learn alot and they have heart no matter what happens they come back and play just as hard.after the lcc game it would have been easy to throw in the towel cause nothing went right for them but they didnt they bouced back. The dawgs may not be the fastest or the flashiest but i wouldn't trade one player for anybody on that TEAM!

Point taken.
Definitely not his best passing game, but 200/200 makes up for that any time.

I think this is going to be a good game. LC is not going to be a push over. And I think the boys know that also.

Let me say this my son (Alan) can not win this game on his own. It will take a team effort. No one person can win any football game by there self. It takes 11 men. JMO

Jammer2525 Wrote:Exactly what did he cost? I honestly hope you are not blaming all the drama that went down last year on a kid? If so, that is ridiculous. If anyone is to blame for anything that happened it would be adults, not those kids involved. So, they took the wins away on paper.. we all know who won those games. As far as these comments about inflating stats. Its hard to inflate stats when you only play 2-3 quarters in a game. You have to have some talent to get the numbers the kid is getting with not even full games under his belt. This kid has had no compliments or anything from the get go, it has nothing to do with KHSAA. It was going on before then. The comments about not playing any decent teams..yes they have played a few weak teams, Powell Co. was a tough game because they are an excellent team and they were underestimated going in. Last year they defeated P-Burg (most of which was on Boggs might I add) and Sheldon Clark..how those arent tough games I would like to know. The game against Belfry may have been a loss, but from what I seen Boggs still had a great game, and I do recall that you even had Belfry fans saying so on here. Stats do not lie, the kid didnt become the states reg. season leading passer for nothing. You can't inflate stats that much. Even then he was still playing 2-3 quarters a game. Give the kid a break and give credit where credit is due. Let's face it, if the kid didnt have talent he wouldnt be getting any interest from colleges. From what I have heard and read on here, there are some pretty big colleges looking at him, D1 schools from what I heard. He is definitely one of the most talented QB's that I have ever seen and in the mountains, and he has a bright future ahead of him. All I can say is I wish him nothing but the best, and if he reads these posts don't let the negative ones get to him, he has plenty of people in his corner and who are rooting for him to do well and believe in him. He is an excellent kid, and he even goes to talk to the football players at the middle and grade schools, which being someone who has seen this-those young kids love it, and they look up to him. That to me says something about him, not just the type of player that he is, but the well rounded kid that he is. Not many kids his age would be doing the same. I wish Boggs and all of the Hawks nothing but the best of luck in the future. Do your best, and don't let negativity get you down. Good Luck Hawks!! :Clap:Not blaming anyone. I believe Boggs is a very talented individual and he found a coach with the know how and philisophy and a team with the ability to showcase his talents. Extremely rare. For example not much need for a big arm at Belfry. Not their philisophy. But a lot of coaches would love to have him IF they have good O-line and top notch receivers. If you can't pass block or run a route a good QB looks bad. And I see nothing wrong with a player going to a team that can help him grow. Most of time it does work out.

Looking forward to a good game, hope you guys that are traveling from Lawrence County have a safe trip coming to Pike County

I think it comes down to ball control and defense. The last few weeks I have seen the Dawgs improve every game on both sides of the ball. I think we have played a more difficult schedule than P-ville and we have shown the ability to run the ball even on some 5a schools. Our O isnt flashy but make no mistake.....We will wear you out. We have shown the ability to hold the ball 5-8 minutes at a time and put the ball in the endzone. If we dont hurt our selfs with penalties I think we will come out on top in a close one.

Winner of this game should be #2 seed in district behind Belfry.

This will be a game of suprises. Some may know what I mean.
