Jack Lambert Wrote:I was talking about this years Boyle team as well as Boyle's past teams they've always been physical, I guess we'll have to agree to disagree.

My perception of Boyle this year:
- Aggressive
- Hard Hitting
- Quick
- Fundamentally Sound
- Not very big
- Not overly strong physically

I would have no problem labeling 2015 Boyle as "physical".. they liked to hit and never would shy from contact from what I saw. I wouldn't label them as "powerful" though. Not exactly the team that people would feel like they were in a 10 round heavyweight prize fight the next day

LexCath is like Floyd Mayweather..quick, agile... they just want to play enough Defense and score enough points to beat you and make you tired

Boyle is like Manny Pacquiao.. they are more aggressive and tougher... not especially big... but if you giv them the chance they have knockcout power

Johnson Central is more like a Heavyweight. Body blows, all power, not very much speed, but they want to pound you to death with heavy fists.

Belfry is like a light heavyweight. Not as quick and agile as a Mayweather, but a lot better with their feet than a Johnson Central. Knockout power is there, but they have to set it up.
Football Junky Wrote:Henry clay is not good in football, they have a ton of talent and never do anything. Henry clay has better track and basketball than football. PLD is probably best known for great cheerleading teams

I was actually going to mention Henry Clay Track. Henry Clay used to be a tough 6A school in football. Not to say they were as good as Male or Trinity but there was some epic battles between them and Scott County.

My grandson played on the Henry Clay team that beat Scott County in the semis a few years back.

Had Elijah Bell, the quickest dude I ever saw in HS football, among others. They have talent every year. Should be at the top every year. Very large school, athletes everywhere.

Yeah, he was good.

I have to disagree with EKU on Belfry being a light weight and in order to make big plays they have to set them up.
Haywood is like a chest player in some sense. His play calling is in a order he does to have big plays. I don't think one of his plays in the playbook isn't good for 5 yards at a time. They are designed this way. But if a player break for 20 or 30 plus he will take it. It's designed for power, when ur happy with 3 to 4 at a time. LC will have to change there game plan to try and beat Belfry. In turn this will jack them up because then there doing exactly what Haywood wants. LC is right now trying to figure out how to stop the fullback dive. Which sets up the belly. In turn sets up the option. Belfry take one play and the QB can turn it into about 3 different ones after the snap. People don't understand what Belfry does on there plays, they are tuff. The QB has to know and see, feel everything around him. Haywood knows if he can move the ball 3 or 4 yards at a time and score on every drive and keep there Oline off the field it's over for them.

This was before Elijah Bell. I can't remember the exact year; getting too old. But, I believe this was the year that Sam Simpson's son got his first start at UK.

I made 2 special trips to watch Elijah. He reminded me of something animated, he was so quick AND fast!!

The best way to stop or limit a good offense is to keep them off the field. Belfry is very good at grinding the clock and is very content to get 3-4 yards per carry and rattle those chains. This game will be two different styles. Belfry has seen the spread offense this season and LC has the speed to give Belfry some trouble. I'm definitely worried about the secondary early in the game given LC's mobile and talented QB's.
Having to play on Sunday is a bit of a change, but I am sure the coaches are loving the extra day of practice before all the noise sets in.

Bo Brooks!! I believe in was 2010
Belfry is the very best out of all the classes in clock management. Every time Belfry plays a team that like to pass, that team doesn't take advantage of the 5 or 10 yard pass. They always want to throw it down field for the quick score. In turn give Belfry the ball right back. The Belfry finds a way to stop that drive or down field passing and takes over on downs and scores. After Belfry knocks the wind out of LC's sail that won't want any more.

LexCath will either pass it or run it..but they won't do both.

For all the great things you can say about Haywood int erms of X's and O's the two things he is by far the best at is:

A) As you mentioned he sets the pace of the game
B) No matter how good you are on Offense he will find a way to completely take away something you do very well.
That is so spot on that it's ridiculous!! Your "B" is what I call the intrinsic factor. There is none anywhere any better at that than Coach Haywood.
Cameron Catron is going to kill someone one day, by the way. Sheesh that boy lays some hits.
Belfry by 2 tds
Where can I find the game on the internet
Pirates bring home another big Trophy. Belfry by 10.

Radio broadcast will be on http://www.wdhr.com

Video broadcast is a pay product. I believe $5.95 for one game, $14.95 for all 6 games. I don't recall the site name, but I'll try to look it up.

Here is the video broadcast http://khsaa.tv/120615-4-p-m-ct-russell-...vs-belfry/

It is 9.95 for the DAY, so you could watch all of the games on Sunday for that price. 14.95 is Monthly sub and allows you to see all 6.
Was the game free in the past because I don't remember paying to watch before

This 2015 State Finals Weekend is a cluster mess!

The whole WKU thing is screwed up as is, but you would think that if ever there was a year not to charge for watching the games online it would be this one after people's travel plans were already jacked up.

The fact the KHSAA at the very least isn't allowing local channels to broadcast the game live (Specifically the 1A game moved to Thursday) proves they are nothing more than a money racket.

Wish the KHSAA would follow the lead of the GHSAA in Georgia. GHSAA has partnered with the local Public Broadcasting Station GPB and broadcast every game live and in HD. They also broadcast a game each week live and all of the Corky Kell Classic to open the year. Attendance stays high and ad space is easily filled.
Looks to me KHSAA would move the damn games back to the middle of the state also. KHSAA seem to be jacked up it's self. But it is like anything else it's a money racket.

I think once EKU finishes their stadium you might see it move, if for nothing else a a couple years. Louisville and Commonwealth just ain't gonna happen due to size

This scheduling SNAFU definitely has to be taken into account moving forward

Need a smaller stadium so the atmosphere will be better. I think a split venue like C-Ville/Lyndsy Wilson would be good. Both have turf and very nice stadiums. And are central as far as geography.

Agreed. KHSAA is left looking foolish. There should never be the chance of this happening. If the process is similar to WV, Bowling Green made a bid, KHSAA took the highest bid (I assume - along with perks), and now Bowling Green isn't holding up their end of the deal. Thursday championship? Late Sunday championship? Granted in the big scheme of things, there aren't that many people affected. Still, it's just a pieced together backup plan that should never be necessary.

Do they have interior seating/club seating?

That's another thing that creates an issue. With all the coaches, vendors, etc the KHSAA hass to put on a dog & pony show so you need an interior area to stage all that

In terms of venue, WKU is pretty much perfection. Geography though..not so much
This Perry Central fan is pulling hard for the Pirates. I hope it's a 3-peat. I played against coach Haywood in the playoffs when he was at Prestonsburg. Of course he beat my team too. Best of luck fellows and bring it home!
I forgot to give the score. Belfry wins 36-19. Go Pirates!

Looking at all the empty seats lessons the atmosphere in my opinion. I would much rather have standing room only than thousands of empty seats. Only sections of wku are occupied. Same as when they were held in Louisville on a lesser level due due the smaller venue. Still needs a size decrease in my opinion.

Parking is a big deal. EKU has the alumni lot which is pretty big but I don't know how much. It'd be great to have there honesty.
