I don't think that there are any teams on BC's schedule that could handle JC. Hopefully, JC and BC will face each other in the 4A championship game. The question of which team is better will not be settled until they meet on the field.

I wish Boyle was ranked #2 all season so that it would drive them like it did in 2017. For me, JC is number one until Boyle plays CAL and Highlands. If they struggle or get beat by one of those two teams they are not gonna win it this year in my eyes. Now if they take care of business and win those games by a few touch downs then maybe they are legit. They have a lot of good pieces but they have some weaknesses too!

This thread turned into soap opera as it usually does when Central Ky fans and Eastern Ky fans get together you guys are hilarious we’ll find out who the best team is come December.

Weâre all pretty passionate about our young men whether they wear black or are wearing red and sometimes it seems to get outta control and heated I seen it coming in this thread. We could have worse problems than arguing about two great programs hopefully weâre able to keep arguing for the foreseeable future... Good luck to the rebels and the other programs in 4A Iâm out Iâve showed my ass enough for today...

I'm out guys.
This means a lot to me and some people make things personal. I'm not in a place where I want to argue or get passed off. I just want to enjoy this while it lasts.
I'm not wishing anyone good luck but what I will do is wish all the kids a healthy and fun football season because to be honest, that's all that matters.
I also apologize if I've ever offended anyone with my posts.
Go Rebels!!!

I have a feeling weâll need more luck than JC will this year. What has impressed me is these kids donât stop. Theyâve kept coming at both opponents so far and have shown to be a somewhat of a scrappy group. They still seem like they need to get on their assignments better, but even when lined up wrong they are flying around and having fun. These next 3-4 weeks are gonna tell us a lot about every single team at the top in 4A.

JC Better than BC last year, not sure about this year, but just from what I have seen I would favor BC. I think we all agree it does not take a rocket scientist to figure out that being healthy at the right time matters. Don't ever take Corbin and Central lightly. Both teams know how to get to the big game. Central knows how to win it.

Not to get off topic, but did anything happen to centrals HC after the allegations during the off season?

Boyle had some injuries last year but they lost to Corbin because of line play. Corbin outclassed them up front on both sides of the ball. I'm not saying Boyle didn't have and doesn't have some good linemen but they had some holes last year and very young guys playing against a seasoned Corbin Sr. lead line. I said it before the season started and had about 3 Boyle people call me out. I will say this, I think this years group up front is better than last year across the board. Doesn't mean they will run the table but I think they are a better team this year top to bottom. I don't know why people get tore up about rankings anyway. Only one that counts is the one in December. I don't care who is ranked where. Just play the games and we will find out. Who cares.

I said it then, and Iâll say it again, as a unit, that was the best Oline Iâve seen in HS football in my entire life! And just so itâs clear to everyone else reading, Iâm not saying last years was horrible, or anything about them. But 2017 was a thing to behold and watch. If your line this year is anything close to them, itâs going to be a tough outing for opponents. But Iâm with ya on ranking, they are useless and for us to bicker about. Until the 3&4th round of the playoffs.

I will give my opinion about this year. Last year Corbin was better period. This year I think Boyle and JC are very close and clearly the 2 best teams in 4A. Boyle has a weakness in our line play and JC has a weakness in their overall speed in the secondary and WRs. JMHO. Iâm not a big believer in Central this year. They lost too much and their talent is unproven. Madisonville is legit and a top 5 team for sure. Lex Cath with their QB could win any game any given night. If Anderson will stick to their run game and stop passing 70% of the time they are a top 5 team. Corbin has a lot of talented players and all the pieces to be a top 5 team. They are a little young but that might not matter. I think those are the top teams in 4A with Anderson the only one with a fatal flaw with their secondary but overly gifted in their run game and run stop D. I could be wrong and Central could surprise me or another team Iâm not familiar with.

#55PirateFan Wrote:I'll agree and disagree with this post:
At this point I'd have Johnson Central at #1 and Boyle County at a VERY close #2. Just for the simple fact of the schedules so far.
JC has beat a Lafayette team that played Scott pretty good as you said and beat a very good Capital team on the road and was in the 4A finals last year with the majority of that team back. While Boyle has played a weak first two games (not their fault in my opinion) as we all have "weak" opponants somewhere on our schedule whether it be district or non district teams. Boyle's just so happen to be back to back and their first two games and their starters may have played a total of half a quarter so far. We really haven't got a chance to see what that "Rebel Monster" looks like just yet, but it's coming.
Like you also said, the Rebels will definitely have their chance to prove their worth in the coming weeks. I will be shocked if Boyle County doesn't come out of that tough four game stretch against CAL, Highlands, Lex.Cath., and Anderson County 4-0, and by decent margins of victory. If/when they do, they are the clear cut #1 team in 4A impressively.
Lastly, I strongly disagree with the Rebels being over hyped last year. Boyle County went on the road and beat Belfry in the playoffs, which is something that hasn't happen very often on Pond Creek the last few years. The Pirates jumped all over the Rebels right out of the gate early in the game, and while most teams would have never recovered in that atmosphere Boyle regrouped fought back, took the lead, and never looked back. Not going to say what would have happened in the Corbin game if Boyle was 100% healthy because, for one, that wouldn't be fair to Corbin and another reason is, we just don't know. But saying they were overhyped is a stretch to me.
Again, this is just my opinion on the matter. I do think 4A comes down to one of these two teams. I don't know if by the way KHSAA has rearranged things if Boyle County and Johnson Central will have to meet before the championship game or if they have a chance to play one another at Kroger Field for the title. But I do know this, if they do meet it's going to probably be one of, if not the best playoff or championship games in 2019.
So Highlands just played a Tenn team all on here were saying how great they are and held lead late in fourth quarter without their best RB playing and you say Boyle is going into Ft Thomas and win by a decent margin. Not saying they wonât beat Highlands but winning comfortably at a tough place to play is a bold prediction.
