Johnson Central vs. Greenup County (10/6)
#31
I look to see Central coming out playing 5-2 man to man defense to try to slow down Greenup's high octane offense. Offensively I see Central trying to run the ball to the outside with sweeps and such to stretch Greenup's defense out.

Greenup County is 5-2. The Musketeers' defeated opponents have a combined 12-20 record this season. (No defeated team has fewer than 3 losses.)

I will be shocked if GC defeats Johnson Central this week or Ashland next week.

2013: Longest field goal - 60 yards.
2015: Longest punt - 89 yards.

That's a kicker? Better give him a 70ish jersey number and have him play O- line.

What type of offense does GC run?

Both teams could be playing in their home county in front of a major crowd, but instead, both teams are traveling North (Greenup County & Fairview) for what will probably be not the most competitive contests.

That would be a great atmosphere for a high school football game.

This is Tyler's Bio page on ukathletics.com

"Most people don't know he's quite possibly the largest kicker in the country."

If I get permission to go off-topic, then I will be glad to explain.

It's about their offense so I don't see how it could be off-topic

I understand.

However, what I am laughing about is off-topic.

I love how GC is embracing the Tony Franklin System once again after the powers-that-be trounced it back in 2007 and 2008. They wanted to have a power offense so they brought in Copley to run the belly in 2009 and 2010.

Mullins ran a hybrid of the belly and the TFS during his tenure as head coach from 2011-2015.

I am glad that Scott Grizzle has won 12 games in less than 2 seasons with that offense. I know that it worked at Raceland when he played there.

Johnson Central by infinity.

Greenup qb in the near future will be the best qb in the area. He has size the arm and the mobility.

It is truly pathetic that instead of playing a game in your backdoor with no travel involved, would have a sell out crowd, and would be a big money maker for both teams. But instead both teams are burning fuel on the road, and will have to feed the kids too, so do they break even?

With school budgets shrinking, administrators need to think about fiscal matters when a sure money maker is staring you in the face. Of course, I guess PHS rakes in lots of tuition money from their transfers. Or do they get scholarships? I don't know.

Could u imagine the gate that those 2 games would draw?

Have to agree here. Had to deal with this kid in JFL. By his senior year, after he grows into his frame and bulks up a bit, he will start making more plays with his legs as well. Very elusive and his arm is progressing. each year the offense will develop more and more wrinkles. Reminds me alot of Alex Roy. But Sammons is more atheletic. A pocket QB, who can make plays with his legs when things breakdown. Greenup issue lay within their inconsistency on offense and, though they have ALOT of size, they lack mobility upfront. That's where JC will hold the advantage. Hope Grizzle and the Muskies can keep it competitive for awhile...but...
