1A playoffs

Scotty_Bronson Wrote:Imo, It all comes down to what Raceland team shows up. If its the team that held on and buckled down when they had to against Coal Grove, or the team that hung 21 pts on Ashland in the 2nd quarter that offense and that defense in those 2 quarters were the best in the east and if they can figure out how to do that for 4 quarters, they are the best team in the east.

BUT until they do that, my beloved rams are just pretenders. I do however have a feeling with a healthy Isaac Wallace on the dline, Daylin Beach, and Messer back at 100%, they will beat Fairview. I just worry that if thu do beat Fairview and win the district, what happens against Paintsville the following week.

Correction, IF they beat fairview they would still have to beat Paintsvikke to win the district. If this team puts complete games together they willbe hard to beat.

That is definitely the most complete district in 1a in the state. Most only have 1 good team, some have 2 but to have 3 in one district is really good.

I wouldn't call W'Burg or Raceland pretenders. The 2 WBurg losses were to 2 very good teams that any other 1A team would lose to, also, with exception of Mayfield, and they'd be great games against them that could go either way. The only knock on them is they really haven't beaten a quality team yet and until they do, these questions will remain out there.

Raceland and Lawrence/Ashland are all pretty equal teams and, yeah, you'd like to see the Rams come out on top in at least 1 of those, but, in games with equally talented teams, anything can happen. The main thing with the Rams are they're very inconsistent. Really good at times and then very uninspired at others. Does make you wonder if they can maintain there intensity level for 5 straight weeks.

Williamsburg handled Pike Central fairly easy. Fairview needed an epic choke job by the Hawks to pull out the W. I am very familiar with Pike Central and they are not a very good team. Pikeville's Final Score vs. Hazard was mis-leading as the Panthers were probably 2-3 TD's better.

Hazard, Fairview, and Raceland are interchangeable. I think Pikeville and Wburg are slightly better teams (as you see maybe a TD better) than the interchangeable lot. In addition Wburg has two very good losses.

North Laurel has equated themselves as a legit Top 10 caliber team in 5A and Wayne County is perhaps the best team in the West in 3A. Wayne Co is comparable to Belfry who put a running clock on Pikeville and would do the same to all the other 1A teams being mentioned. WBurg actually equated themselves pretty well against Wayne until late in the 2nd Half.

What's left to be answered with Wburg is how they react when the pressure is on in November. Pikeville, Hazard, and Fairview have all proved they can win the big game. Raceland and Wburg the jury is still out.

Williamsburg did handle Pike Central pretty good but it was there first game with there running back who is out for the season. By the time Fairview played Pike Cent they have adjusted to life without there running back..

I also disagree with Pikeville being two or three touchdowns better than Hazard but they were the first night of the season but I think hazard has things going in the right direction. Pikevilles defense has not showed they can stop good offenses just yet. But I do think Raceland, Fairview Hazard, Pikeville and Williamsburg are all interchangeable and these teams could play and you would get a different result everytime. I also agree Williamsburg and Raceland are yet to win the big game..

From what I witnessed last year Mayfield would have beat any team in any class. They are for real. As for the East, don't count Fairview out because of King not playing.

By all the power ratings, the 2 teams that Wburg has lost t0 are not that strong. I think Lit has them in low 90's or 80's even. They have got to win those to be considered contenders.

He.......has.......to......saaaaaaayyyyyyy......itttttttt....innnnnnn......evvvveryyyyyy....threadddddd......

Here are some other cool ways we does it:
At work: "I'll be glad to answer that, but first are you aware that Belfry has beaten Pikeville in football 13 straight times?"
When his girlfriend calls: "Hi honey, let me get back to you about what we will do this weekend, but I would like to point out that Belfry had a running clock on Pikeville the other night."

It's catching on too. I overheard this conversation today:
Pikeville fan: "What's your ACT score?"
Belfry fan: "What's an ACT score?"
Pikeville fan: "Never mind. I'll have a hamburger and Coke."
Belfry fan: Did you know Belfry had a running clock on Pikeville the other night?"
Pikeville fan: "Yeah, I know."
Belfry fan: "Thank you, drive through."

Man I can feel the love between the Belfry and Pikeville fans.

^EKU05 is my boy haha. We like to give each other a hard time. Wait 'til you see what I have in store for him if Pikeville ever beats Belfry in football. Of course we may be playing shuffleboard at the assisted living center.:insane:

The exact thought process I have had about UK beating Florida since the last time it happened I wasn't even old enough to remember... I continue to wait

JP and I are cool... I even wasted an entire Friday night recently defending the Panthers against the endless excuses of Middlesboro..not exactly sure why I did it...but did it nonetheless. If you thought the Williamsbrg excuses when they lost earlier this year were bad you have no clue some of the spin Middlesboro fans were using.

No way they could top the excusinator 2000 that is Wburg. I have never ever heard someone say they couldn't win because they had to wear orange jerseys and stand on the sunny side of the field. That is until I read it on a Wburg thread.

64, If you guys do by some chance make it to BG and we do as well, please do not make us wear orange jerseys.
#45
I will bring you a orange Williamsburg Jersey 64sur :worthy:
#46
I might frame it, but I won't wear it during the game. I have already heard what it does to your chances to win against good teams.
#47
I have saw u mention the sunny side orange jersey countless times 55. What exactly r u refering to?
#48
Mayfield wins the gold

Bronson, it is the funniest thing I ever read on here. If you scroll back to the thread started when Wburg was about to play N Laurel, there is a post about it on there. One of the Wburg fans said N Laurel would win because they were now making Wburg play as the home team, wear orange jerseys and stand on the sunny sidelines. I can't make that kind of stuff up. That is a classic.

SERIOUSLY!!!!!! We don't back down from anyone. We would play BG if we could. I know next year for instance, we will be in trouble against McCracken but we will play them and then ask to extend the contract.
