Not red butted, we just miss having a game that was turning into a guaranteed win to close out the season :biglmao:

That a boy.

Russell seems to give up alot of yards when teams spread them out. Pikeville will do just that. Then when they sacrifice themselves a bit to try and stop Hall, Estep will beat them either at WR or from the Wildcat.

This is what happens when you play small players on d line and can't control the line of scrimage and have to rely on your linebackers to make plays.

No matter how many kids Russell gets back they are still taken a butt whopping cause they ant getting the kids back that went to Raceland.:biglmao::biglmao::biglmao::biglmao::biglmao:

Finally. An am admits they couldn't win without the Russell kids.:devilflam

Looks like all 5 games between Russell and Raceland were very competitive. Still think Pikeville has too many weapons though.

07,08,09, what's the excuse now.You know you are starting to run out of them. Its all good though they don't play no more and you can go back to believing that Russell can bet Raceland,if only in your head but I know not in your hearts.Because Raceland owns that.Confusednicker:

No matter who you beat in the past, it took a few wins over Russell to make the ams relavent.

I don't think we are relevant until we win a regional title. You sure don't get relevant beating Russell unless you are Lewis Co.:biglmao:

Russell has 10 regional titles. Two state titles. That trumps any 4 year streak. Ahhhh. Relevancy.Confusednicker:

:igiveup:You got me there. But what have you done for me lately? Is that not how most people look at it?

They were. I think this will be a good game for both Russell and Pikeville. Pikeville 's ability to spread the field will make it difficult on Russell. They will score some points. Russell will counter with ball control and time of possession. I honestly think both defense are going to have a rough time. Should be an entertaining game.

Relavent in your own minds, not anyone elses. The rest of 1a football probley wouldn't know you existed unless they saw you in the rankings.
#45
And I do believe its a 5 year streak,but who's counting.
#46
I'm not most people. Lol
#47
^^^come on you don't even believe that!I mean there are only 32 teams in 1a you kind to have to know everybody.

And you think Raceland will stay this decent. They eb and flow with win totals and still have nothing but memories. Russell at least has hardware in the trophy case to show for their good seasons

Evidently you are and I'm not.

I thought we were supposed to be the ones that were good at math.

If you look at history a lot of Racelands better athletes have came from different school systems. Even different country's. I know past graduates who were lured into the orange. The only state title Raceland can swing is in track and how do you reward coach Helton? By removing his track and send his team packing to Ironton or Russell.
#51
I'm throwing a flag!

BGR personal foul...Thread Hijacking...Raceland fans...Hopefully you'll get your chance in a few weeks...15 post penalty and result in an automatic First Down Pikeville!!!....Wink

In the defense of Raceland, that championship track team did not have imported talent. That team was all homegrown Raceland boys.

As far as football goes, I wish Raceland played away this week so I could see what Pikeville looks like. I don't know much about either team to make a meaningful assessment but judging by the trends of the past few seasons, it seems as though these are two programs going in different directions. Regardless of the outcome, I hope everyone makes it out of this game healthy for playoff season.

I would argue differently on that. I would say these two programs are headed in the same direction. Both are traditionally strong programs. Much last like years Pikeville team this Russell team starts a freshman and a sophomore in the backfield as their top playmakers. A lot if young talent coming up and the next several years look really good.

Pikeville wins this one and the playoffs until they get to Raceland.

I would really like to see Russell go back to being good like they were in the early/mid 2000's. It makes our area look good when there are a few competitive teams at the state level.

Russell counters ball control and time of possession with more ball control and time of possession.

I hope the Evils get back to their old ways. And when they do, Dixon, Boggs, Messer, and Griffith will be gone. Then maybe the old man or his predecessor, will rekindle the flame of the Rail City Bowl. I think both teams benefit from it financially, the food drive was always successful, and with area football being as it is, i dnt think Ashland, Raceland, Russell, Ironton, and Johnson Central can afford not to play eachother. Hopefully it goes back to the way it was in the early nineties where everyone played everyone.
#59
Even if Johnson Central throttles everyone, it will only make them better.

I'd like to see that too . And we will.
