Mason County @ Bourbon County 11/22
#61
Where does Boyle County fit into this equation? Doesn't Bourbon play Mason County this week? You guys are still hanging on whether Bourbon could beat Boyle. Boyle County had a good year and one that most teams would love to have but there is no point in disrespecting them. I know I sure am proud of them. As for Bourbon, I knew that Bourbon would have a good team and that they would be right here today. Just keep doing your thing Colonels. I will be cheering for you.

EKUAlum05 Wrote:You're playing the "poor, poor Pitiful Bourbon" card on the wrong person... I have been watching the Colonels all season and giving them credit where it is due since this Summer. HAHA

And FWIW, Anderson, Franklin County, LexCath, Henry Clay, Scott County, and Madison Southern are all still standing in CKY... not cracking the Top 5 is not a negative indictment as several teams continue to show they have a legitimate claim just like Bourbon.. just like we mentioned almost every week...there were several interchangeable teams who were all very close this year. This is holding true in the playoffs... with the exception of Boyle County fans who may eat their crow when they didn't think Bourbon was on their level

Boyle County lost to a good Mercer County team. There is no shame in that. You keep calling out the Boyle fans which I find funny. I have said numerous times that Boyle vs Bourbon would be a good game, I said that Boyle would win but it would not be a blowout. Please dig for that information if you will. Now, lets leave it that. Boyle County had a good season. Fantasy land is over!

Im not playing any cards ... All im saying is that if u thought Bourbon still hasnt played a soul, so why are they now ur pick to go to bg?

Who is the question intended for?

If it is intended for me....I never picked them to go to Bowling Green. I simply said that I will be cheering them on as they make their run.

Bourbon has to beat mason to get hit in the mouth by belfry come on now guys bourbon was def better last year ! And belfry has struggled a lil on defense but it's play offs we are a new animal !!!
#66
So a 2012 team under a first year coach , first year running an offense/defense, first time I assume they've experienced an atmosphere like that of Belfry's was better prepared than a 2013 team that has returned 18 starters, 2 years running an offense/defense and now know what it takes to compete with a team like Belfry?

You are correct and Belfry has to beat PCC (a team that racked up points against them earlier this year)

The colonels have been preparing hard for a tough Mason team at home

We have a group of kids that's been running the same offense and defense for 7-10 years and are hungry for a final chance to win state...
Statements like that go both ways. Good luck to both teams. I'll pick Bourbon County to win!

Im not sure why everyone is jumping the gun here. Bourbon beats teams with their athleticism, this Friday they will the most athletic team they have faced all year. The colonels should not look past the royals.

I don't understand how out of all the stuff I said, the only thing you got out of it was, "There u go gettin ur feelings hurt". I mean you didn't even bother spelling all the words! So if I cheer for Bourbon as they make their run then my feelings are hurt? Ok, that makes sense!

Lighten up Francis I am on my cellular phone, I apologize as it is habit to "text spell." If you didn't say Bourbon would get to BG, why would you think I was talking to you? Your statement seemed awful defensive, and like your feelings may have been hurt a little. Just for future reference please spell your words out OKAY!

I think everyone and their brother predicted Bourbon to reach the Semi-Finals in 3A this year.. so in essence you are asking me why I feel that I have changed my mindset from why Bourbon will be one of the Final 4 teams left in 3A to one of the Final 2.

To that I will say that you can see from all my posts early on that I expected Bourbon to be right in the thick of things and have more than a puncher's chance to potentially knock off Belfry. What has made the difference in moving them ahead is the fact that Bourbon has legitimized themselves by absolutely obliterating everything in their path... even when Pope went down... and never even breaking a sweat. Moreso than that, Belfry hasn't really played to the expected level that I expected them to be right now. Until proven otherwise, Belfry's defense is not really Championship caliber and a far cry from the past couple years. The offense is Championship caliber...but even they have struggled with bouts of mental mistakes and self-inflicted wounds.

Bourbon has proven to be the team everyone expected...possibly even a little better (there was no random head scratcher game like Bath County last season)... Belfry has proven themselves a legit championship contending team, but still haven't proven themselves to be anywhere near the quality of team they were last season on defense.

Speaking of defensive, why are you so defensive? You sure are sassy. I use my cell phone the majority of the time and I am not too lazy to type a few more letters. By the way, it's Bowling Green, not BG, OKAY? Now, as for the question on me getting "defensive" about whether Bourbon making it to Bowling Green or not. I believe you are not comprehending, I never was defensive nor did my feelings get hurt, I just asked if it was intended for me and that if it was that I would cheer them on, what is so wrong with that? Just take a deep breathe, everything is going to be OKAY!

Yes sir, but instead I will take a breath, not a breathe. I apologize for my message board laziness and I will do better, promise!

I got Bourbon this week By 36! Next week 21 no matter who BoCo plays. Bourbon is ready for a pinky ring. Bling!

So...you're willing to give odds this week and next week? You've gonna give anyone Mason plus 35....and either Belfry or Pike Central plus 20? I would imagine you'd have alot of takers on both games.....especially with the Christmas shopping season upon us:yum:

I'll take it I could use the cash.:biglmao:

Vegas just smiled really big, I can see EKUAlum already doing next weeks set the line Bourbon Co vs Opponent(+21). You never spot Belfry 21pts in the playoffs.
#83
As a member of the Colonel Nation the majority of us are very understanding that it is one game at a time and have no reason to look past Mason they are a very good team with very good coaches. Most of us will say that we are blessed to have the opportunity to be apart of such a outstanding coaching staff and TEAM..

I must be catching up with you in misspelled words. I am glad you will finally make an effort to do something. Maybe you should work on your sarcasm a tad bit as well. Just a suggestion.

HSF, in all honesty I was wishing your team the best of luck. Take that however you want it.
#88
Bourbon Co. wins this week and next with or without Pope. Best team on both sides of the ball not named Central I've seen in the new 3A.
#89
In my honest opinion you have to earn credit. I remember a hyped up bourbon team last year coming to our house and getting smashed.

To respond to original intent of thread, bourbon by 14 and taking one game at a time. No need looking to belfry if dont make it past Mason.....
