I ask a question I didn't get an answer, how big is Beech? I am left to assume he is light weight if not someone would have been quick to answer me. He appears to be about 165 which is good weight if he has the moves and speed. We have faced some good backs this year, Blair, Ford, Mills, Nelson, Jones they were good backs, I really don't know if he will make that much difference.

I've just been reading all of this talk about Raceland, Williamsburg and Frankfort winning state championships in middle school. I guess our coaching staff here at Mayfield was hiding this from us. They probably didn't want us to know that we don't stand a chance.

Raceland 24
Williamsburg 14
The Ram's defense shows up big on this one just like last week!

Scotty_Bronson Wrote:Pretty well. Good amount of speed/height. Shortest db is about 5'10". Slowest runs about a 4.6 id say. Their length makes them hard to throw on. They kelt Pikeville in check. They get good pressure on the qb as well. Their redzone defense is incredibly tough.
In regaurds to Beech, he is a different kind of RB than Jones. Jones is similar to Brewer from Fairview last year. Beech is more like an Eric Dickerson style RB. Very ellusive, never stops moving his feet, great balance and vision. You wont see him truck many guys, but he can drag you 5-10 yards before he'll hit the ground. There's also Elkins, Christian, Snyder, and Messer to worry about coming out of the backfield.
Id say you are wrong.. People kill me how they just guess how fast some of these players are.. Dad on a stop watch usually doesnt have it right..

Think wat u want. Im far from being a dad with a stop watch. Though I am a HUGE Ram fan, I dont see through orange tinted glasses. I am realistic and honest. Ive not seen them burnt all year. They have a good DB coach a good strength coach and a good track coach to get them ready through out the year. People kill me with their need to make statements that are instantly argumenantative for no reason. But your opinion is yours and mine is mine. Agree to disagree.

Don't know how fast Messer is. But he has saved a bunch of tds. Not talking about angles.
And friday nights game I was surprised by the speed of corner Josh Young. He ran down a Pikeville back that had a ten yard head start on him. Impressive!! Maybe not 4.5 or 4.6 speed. But it was enough to run down the PIKEVILLE backs. Plus a few others this season.
Your time doesn't matter. As long as your faster then the guy your chasing or running. Fans use these 4.5's and 4.6 as a average. Sounds good!!! No harm intended!

Raceland has speed and size but so des williamsburg people forget that williamsburgs defense is big and fast as well and that is where they get their defensive success although we might not have a 6'5 350 lineman we do have a lean mean and fast line on both sides of the ball and a linebacker core that has a nose for the ball with kissenger Patrick and husky who are all in the 4.6 or 4.5 range forty time which at linebacker doesn't mean much because linebackers never run in a straight line I'd much father have them run a faster shuttle time but unfortunatly I do not have times for that I can post with accuracy

^^^this is all i was saying about Raceland. These r two teams wit alot of tallent and alot of ability. Tbh, Williamsburg as a team may be faster than Raceland. But so was Pikeville and Fairview. Beat Fairview by 22 and Pikeville by 11(with 2 tds called back). Thus will be a good game. Raceland's line will be the difference. It may take it into the 4th quarter to kick in, but i think that, evenually their strength and speed will wear down the Wburg defense.

Williamsburg going to BG... Just to good at the skill postions...

I hope that Raceland’s DB's are good. I hope there coaches think that they can handle # 23 & 14 one on one. Believe me they will be making adjustments during halftime. Speed does play a factor but these two have been running these routes for 6 years now. They know how to get open and will against one on one coverage.

Does williamsburg run the franklin system? What kind of other recievers do thy have? Are they running the standard spread(i know there are different formations but the primary one.

Looks like the outside of Griffith and Shelton, the receptions drop off significantly.

Most of our DBs have been coached at one time by an NFL Hall of famer WR. They understand the routes and how to defend them. DBs that are 6'1, 6'2", 6'3 1/2", 6'1" and in the nickel package another DB who is 6'1". All fast and understand both sides of the ball. They understand breaks and coverages and did not have 36 INT so far in varsity football just by luck. We have not faced a team who has tried to throw on us primarily because most teams will not attempt it. Sure you may have some little dink passes to the RB on an arrow route or fast rout, but throwing down field... dare say - GOOD LUCK ON THAT!

I'm going to guess those WBurg LB's don't run 4.5 or 4.6's because if they did and had any kind of size to them at all they would be D1 college LBs.

It didnt line up the way i typed it. Essentially x/H to the left and y/z to the right.

Sounds like its just going to come down to the team that makes the bigger plays.. Williamsburg will take there chances down field. Best of luck to both teams..

I doubt the Jackets have anyone faster than Quinton Baker of Ashland.
