Are you speaking about crapping in your own hands? Never done that before and never will.

I agree that the 2 teams are pretty evenly matched.. Whoever wins will have to win the turnover and penalty battle..
#66
55 u still sticking by ur 28-0 prediction?

Running clock Cards

Surprised by this prediction by Mayfield Cardinal. He is usually pretty conservative, and have even seen him pick another team to beat Mayfield. Curious to what you see from this matchup to predict a blowout.

After watching video, I think it will be bigger than I picked.

Bigger than a 28-0 shutout. If Mayfield beat them by that much I wouldn consider Caldwell much of a contender in 3a. Lets not forget what happened 2 out of the last 3 times they played them at Caldwell. They seem to play Mayfield much tougher at home.

Just calling it like I see it. They love the swing pass.
#72
I bet that's a play call. Swing pass right/left.
#73
After seeing Caldwell Countys newspaper today i see they are feeling confident in Princeton. I like it.

Tica Wrote:Caldwell won the Tilghman game fair and square. Would it have been different if the QB had played the entire game? Possibly. He put up about 90 yards passing in the 1st quarter and he was driving for another score when he was injured. But Cain was also out part of the game, and a subsequent game, and Caldwell had others step up to fill in. Caldwell has multiple weapons. But here's a fact: Mayfield is about equal to any of the top 4-5 AAA teams in the state. If Caldwell can't put them away, then Caldwell faces an uncertain future.

I wouldn't be so sure that Mayfield is as good as any of the top 4-5 teams in 3A mayfield beat 3A Corbin 28-14 2A Danville beat Corbin 20-0 both games were at Corbin and 3A Boyle put a running clock on Danville at Danville I would consider Corbin outside the top 5 in 3A and I do think that if Caldwell loses to Mayfield that they don't have a prayer against Central, Boyle, Lexington Catholic, or Belfry in 3A. No disrespect to Mayfield at all I love their tradition.

Trust me, that wasn't the usual Mayfield. We had just lost Bright the week before and was still trying to find how to use another back. We were very suspect going in. We should be getting back to normal soon though.
#76
I have seen several post on here where so and so beat this team and this team beat so and so. You can't use that kind of thinking as every team plays each team different...

Did you have to get the Caldwell grads you work with to read it to you?

Sorry to easy.

Not that it means anything Friday, but history tells us this match up has not typically been a low scoring affair, nor have the outcomes been particularly close.

Calpreps thinks Mayfield wins by 2.

This Mayfield team played extremely well the 1st 5 weeks of the season, then didn't play very well the next 3 weeks.. They played well last week, but, it's hard to say they played better due to the competition.. I don't think those 3 weeks had anything to do with Bright, either.. Arnett simply went cold with his passing.. He was hitting at about 80-85% in the 1st 4-5 weeks, then it seemed he couldn't hit a barn door for awhile, plus, it seemed like the OL was getting exposed and Arnett was under constant pressure.. That's concerning, going into the playoffs.. The Cards have plenty of skilled players at the WR, RB, SR positions, but, Arnett needs to get his throws more accurate and the OL must protect better.. The defense has been consistent all year.. McCracken was the only team to really give them trouble and that's because they have the ability to throw the ball and good enough RBs to keep you honest.. Other than McCracken, Mayfield's not played a team that could throw it all that well.. Caldwell will challenge them there, which I think is good for them to see before the playoffs start.. A team like OB Catholic that can spread you out scares me to death, a lot more so than Murray, Desales or CAL does.. I think they match up well with those 3 moreso than with OBC..

If you don't think it had anything to do with Bright, just watch what happens tonight. You are entitled to your opinion, even when it's wrong. The missing has a lot to do with Bright not being there to pick up the blitz and them not having to concern themselves with him. It will be clearly evident tonight.

Hope you are right. I don't usually predict a score in Mayfields games, but I couldn't contain myself yesterday at work, and told a few smack talking Caldwell fans that Mayfield would hammer them like a 16 penny nail. I think I told them Mayfield would win by 20+. You, and Mayfieldsportsfan need to fire the boys up to make me look good.
#82
My goodness 55, Bright's not known for his blocking prowess at all.. His 5'6 150 body isn't made for blocking.. Any other RB Mayfield could put in for him could do equally as well or better pass blocking. The OL did a much better job giving Arnett protection in the pocket earlier in the year. They've regressed since and Arnett hasn't been near as accurate/sharp as he was, even when he's had time to throw it.. That's been obvious to see unless you're too caught up in the red tinted glasses to see it..
#83
Kyhsfbfan iv done tried telling him... he is hard headed..
#84
WRONG!!! Before you to spew off why don't you check with someone like a coach that knows what's going on. Yes clearly there are kids bigger at rb. but, some like our baseball buddy here forget this is Mayfield. It's not the size of the dog in the fight it's the size of the fight in the dog. I have personally heard it from people in the know. That is one of the major areas that they miss when Bright is not in. They say he picks up the blitz better than any of the other backs. OTOTW go back to the baseball field or come watch some film with us at the defensive dinners on Thur to learn a little football.
#85
Beyond any doubt, Bright is the best blocking back we have, start watching and that will become obvious. Arnett, I would not trade for anyone, he is a heck of a QB and the most important cog in the wheel if we are to win a title.
#86
IMO, Arnett is a good runner, from what little he takes off with it. Wouldn't hurt my feelings if he did more of that.. As far as Bright being the best blocking back, fine, I'll drink the kool aid, but, when Arnett's getting pressured by 2-3-4 DL, it's obvious that the OL isn't getting the job done as far as protection goes and even when he's had time, his accuracy has been way off.. Bright's not going to be able to pick up that many rushers..
#87
Evenly matched
#88
I don't think u will find many Mayfield fans that think it was evenly matched. They relied upon a pick 6, a punt return for 6, a long run by RB late and a late FG when we were in prevent and got a very suspect pass int penalty.
#89
There defense was good though.
#90
Mayfield was behind the majority of the game getting the benefit of a couple of phantom calls and was out played for most of the game, Caldwell earned those special team scores by having an excellent blocking and return game, the same weak corner hurt Caldwell again tonight only this time the game was lost on a couple of td's instead of just first downs. The Tigers gift wrapped this game for the Cardinals, snatching defeat from the jaws of victory, having a two point lead with 37 seconds left and Mayfield on their own 30, extremely lucky last night to get out with a win.
