Paintsville @ Lawrence County

Tomcat Pride Wrote:Maybe all of Lawrence County’s athletes will be back this week. They must have held them out of the Ashland Scrimmage but I’m not sure if they will be enough to derail the Black Tigers.

Paintsville 28
Lawrence 13

Note to the all of the Bulldog people. Hide all your young talent in the lower levels because you know how the tiger followers all. Word is after losing a bunch of transfers they’re looking to replenish their stock.

Let’s see. 20-7 at halftime which both teams played their varsity kids. Ashland scored twice on busted plays. Once we’re Pittman (kids a great athlete) had to run 120 yards for a 40 yard score. Hester is the real and ran the ball great. The best player on the field Ashland was the better team no ones saying different. But they didn’t roll over LC in the Varsity portion of the game. When they did the 10 plays each before the actual scrimmage Ashland scored once and LC didn’t score. So to say LC looked awful is not correct. Both teams after halftime didn’t play all their starters but Ashland and LC both played their starters in the first half and a 20-7 score doesn’t suggest LC doesn’t have any players. Ashland is the better team no doubt but stop acting like LC has a bunch of kids that doesn’t know how to spell football.

This pride cat must live a miserable life. All he can do is hate on kids who work their hearts out and give their all. Imagine a grown a** man hating a group of kids this bad. It’s pretty despicable.

Times are rough because Paintsville decided to take their school back again and stop tolerating the BS behavior from the kids. Changed the attendance and tardy policy and they are requiring kids to be drug tested. Kids got scared and mommy and daddy don't want the word out, so they left. One kid in particular was tardy or absent dang near 100 times last year. Anybody with a brain could look at things that went on last year and see a change was needed. Sad thing is, it was all original Paintsville kids/families that left. No Floyd county students that transferred are involved in the moves from my understanding. If not for the "north Prestonsburg" kids would there even be a team? Those kids all have been there at least 2-3 years. Can people just not get over it?

As I was told by a college recruiting coach, first thing they look at is GPA/ACT, attendance records and if there are any behavioral issues. They are "students" before "athletes".

Think this game is close and may take more then 4 quarters to decide it.

You think the blue bloods are leaving, because of all the Prestonsburg kids?

Good luck to you guys this year and I really mean that. I'm a big LC fan except for one game a year!

I agree totally. And I'm just the opposite I'm a big Pirate fan and love and follow their program. All but for that one game:Thumbs:

As a Paintsville alumni I can assure you it has nothing to do with those kids. Those kids have been a welcome addition to the Tiger family! We are riding our school of the cancer that was trying to take over. It's sad that the cancer within the school was what you call your blue bloods!

If this comes off as hard or mean, so be it, but here goes. If little Johnny wants to leave because he is afraid of competition, please PHS administrators bend over backwards to make sure his transfer goes as smoothly as possible.

Also, the blue bloods cane up through the Brugh, Adkins, and Runyon eras. Not exactly 3 coaches that would produce parents that think they are entitled to anything. LOL

This will be a good one, mountain football baby!!

What two kids transferred and quit?

30-50 year old's surprise me every day. People I know who were taught better get caught up in today's soft and dumbed down society and react as if their kids are entitled. I'm not saying this is what happened in Paintsville, but it wouldn't shock me either.

So what you are saying sidelinedoc I am not entitled, oh I forgot I am in my 60’s. Just kidding but I do agree with you.

This team has talent and their record may not reflect their potential. LC, Beechwood, and Pikeville our of the gate...

Have to agree Paintsville definitely has a tough schedule. They also have talent going to be a great year in the east

It should be a good year in the east. Pikeville does have a bunch of very talented kids but the past will tell you, the favorite doesn't always win. I know no one will overlook Paintsville, Raceland, Hazard or Williamsburg. All have the potential to beat one or the other on any given night. Plus, it's a long season, one or two injuries (which I hope no one has to deal with) can change a team's dynamics overnight.

By the way, I'm going with Paintsville by 7.

Paintsville by 10 🏈
#56
Tigers by 2 TDs.
