Hazard 23 Paintsville 14

Guys, the administration has very stringent rules about talking about student athletes.

Now, no rules have been broken thus far but it's getting close.

Please get back on the thread topic.

Thank you!!

Josiewales Wrote:I agree, the transfer (who is now at FD) is a very good athlete and good QB. Maybe he lacked a good attitude and leadership qualities. He has now played for 3 schools in 4 years. At some point, a person has to look in the mirror... I'll take a kid who is loyal any day over one that is only out for himself. I'm not saying this was the issue, but it makes you wonder with all the 'moves'. Just my opinion.

Moving from Lexington to Paintsville, I’m assuming because of a job, then back to Lexington, also, just assuming because of a job. Believe it or not, stuff like that does happen and is out of people’s control sometimes.

And just so ya know, incase ya didn’t already know, the current QB who was also the starter last year, is also a transfer (Pburg).

Regardless of all of that. Hopefully the QB and Allen both get healthy. If the Tigers are gonna make a deep run in the playoffs, they are gonna need them both.

And just so ya know, he's only been to one high school...Paintsville. But you are correct, Paintsville will need everyone healthy to make a run. As will every other 1A school.

Read my previous post Redneck. I said I didn't blame the kid. Relax...

Bulldogs shock me in this one. Good win

Don’t think it would much matter until Paintsville Head coach open his eyes and eyes the offensive plays don’t work 2nd round playoffs far as they’ll go with the athletes they have only thing that helps them on offense. Watching the game last night and few weeks ago I’d throw the play book in file 13 and start back over. When you put 5 wide on a 3rd and a 4th and long the OC never realized they blitzed from the blind side he kept calling the play. They keep throwing those passes in the flats that never worked. If he wants to run the ball go from at least one TE set and on occasion put the QB under center. They must never watch film after the game on short yards both games I’ve watched other teams ends crash down and by the time QB has the ball from Shotgun their on him.

I’d like to see them run the option out of multiple sets. They have the personnel for it IMO. The OC also ran it when he was a QB, and he ran it to perfection.

Why would a Tiger fan have a username Eagleland? Our offense will be okay in my opinion. We just need to be thankful of the staff that we have. You must have not been around during the Kinner years before Chirico came back.

2014: 4000 yards (Kent Phelps sat out for shoulder surgery)
2015: 5150 yards
2016: 5110 yards
2017: 4250 yards

2018: 3000 yards

2014-2017 Kinner was OC. Horrible offensive production 🙄.

I don’t recall Kinner having anything to do with the defense. Defense wins championships.

I was actually referring to when he was head coach. Since your obviously a big fan of his are you wanting him back as head coach? For what it’s worth,I can remember when our fans were also complaining about our offense while Kinner was our OC. It was Jet Sweep Left, Jet Sweep Right, QB Keeper and All Go.
It seems like no matter who is calling the plays there’s always someone crying about play calling.

Paintsville athletics as a whole went through a rough spell during that same time Kinner was head football coach, it wasn’t just football. The school wasn’t loaded with athletes. As for now, I think he would do just fine with the players they have. But if you take away all of the transfers, Paintsville would be in the slums no matter who the coach is. You can correct me if I was told wrong, but they have 31-32 players, and 20+ are transfers?

You’re absolutely correct. There are more players on our roster from other systems than players that are originally from our system. I’m not sure if we can compete without that being the case.

Joe Chirico is an amazing coach! He was our DB coach at PBurg during a great recent stretch in our history! Paintsville is certainly blessed with a great coach!

He was also the DB coach at Paintsville for many years before he went to Pburg. I was fortunate to have played for him in the late 90’s, early 2000’s.

Agree Chirico very good coach & excellent defensive coach needs to find an OC coordinator that runs an offense similar to Hazard. Power running game and throw when defense brings 8 in box. Paintsville has had huge line last few years and QB never under center or ran a running play with a fullback or lead blocker that I recall.

Paintsville will be fine if they can get healthy before playoffs. We better enjoy this year and next because after that football @ the Ville is over as we know it. Freshman Phelps will be all we have and if we can't get anymore transfers in we will be back to where we were before Chirico took over.

Hopefully we have a QB and some lineman on middle school roster. I'm not familiar with who they have but have been told they only have around 13 players

We played Paintsville middle recently and they had a really good QB #7. Kid was a bigger kid kind of built like a RB but they played him at QB and never really threw the ball. He was quite impressive, ran all over us but didn’t really have any help besides him.
If you need any assistance or want to report a problem feel free to PM me and we will get it taken care of!  Thank you for choosing to be apart of the BGR community!

We have a stud QB that is a sophomore but he only plays baseball. At Paintsville if all your athletes don't participate in more than 1 sport it kills the other major sports!!!! Selfish that this kid don't suit up with his friends on Friday nights imo

How is it selfish? Maybe he doesn’t want to play football.

That was my thoughts. I'm not sure if I'd play if I had it to do all over again. lol

Congrats to Hazard. Bulldogs will have to be accounted for come November

WTF?

Proud of the young Tigers that stepped up and fought till the end.
