DEVILOLOGIST Wrote:I have to disagree with that statement,, Yes everyone else that they played in AA would have continued to press the issue because it should have been them to play instead of Mercer. I can see the point about Russell but now everyone else has the icing on the cake that Mercer should not have played.. Like Devil68 said, ask other schools that played them and get their opionion. Asking Russell would only taint the outcome of your inquiry.I must agree with the poster that said that this would not be as contested an issue if Russell had won the game, or anyone else for that matter. But it is what it is.

Mercer earned the title by beating a very good Russell team. It sounds like instead of being classy losers the Russell followers are being sore-losers and that is unfortunate because they sure took the praise when they won the title, but cannot seem to take bad press well, but thats life and will not change the fact that they were second best this year, and there is nothing wrong with that IMO, it is just high school football!
It's obvious that you don't like Russell for whatever reason. Why are you so hostile against Russell. It's not only Russell fans who were not happy about the Mercer situation, it was everyone else in AA as well and especially the teams who played Mercer in the playoffs. It's OK to voice your opinion, it's what these forums are all about.I will tell you this, it's not being sore losers. If Russell had any other 2A in the championship game and gotten beat, you would have not heard anything but congrats coming from the Russell faithful. You would have felt the same way if your team was beat by a team that you felt had an unfair advantage and you would probably be the 1st to voice your opinion on the matter, especially if that lose cost you a state shampionship. This situation gives all the Russell haters out there a chance to bash on the Devils for a moment, it's a chance that doesn't come around very often so you better take your shots while you can. So Bull, take your shots cause We can take it. Remember this though, you would have felt the exact same way.
