Central: 'We're going to win it all"

I said it earlier and I will say it again. I think Belfry will win but I honestly do not believe that it will be 2-3 TD's.
IDK it will all depend on how quickly central tires out. They are going to have a time with us.

Does it really matter if the freshman dress varsity games or not. Judging by Russell and Belfry no. Two different approaches that both seem to work.

Wasn't Central part of this discussion when it started?

Central won the games they were supposed to win and lost the games they were supposed to lose. Belfry did the same. Johnson Central is a common denominator and Central couldn't stop them and JC in turn couldn't stop Belfry. Looks like it should be a Belfry win and a Central loss, so if things go as they have for both teams so far a new trophy will be traveling back to Pond Creek Friday night. That being said if things always went the way they are supposed to upset could be removed from the dictionary. Stay focused for 4 more quarters and bring home the prize. Get caught thinking you have already been crowned and you will be left wondering how the prize got away.

Just ask a Danville player fan or coach about last year. Go Big Red!!!!!

Belfry is a much better team than Central period. This Belfry team is better than 03 and 04 overall! This is the best Belfry team that I have seen!
Welcome to the best site in town! If you need anything, just let me know.

Belfry might still be playing even if they were in class 5A. They will roll in this one.

Those weren't wise words, but that kid is just that: a kid. An emotion driven kid. Anyone in HS would probably have said the same thing, and that's what those kids are going into this game with the intention of: winning their first state title.

If it were any other way, if they were going into the game with the INTENTION of losing to Belfry, then they wouldn't be worth playing.

I'm pumped. I just hope it's a clean game, that no one gets hurt, and that both teams give it their all.

See y'all in Louisville!!!

The Pond Creek Nation Has Arrived In Louisville Ready Or Not Here We Come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The player should have been expected to say that. Does anyone here think if Dustin May or Ivan Lee was asked the same question that they would have responded that Belfry was going to lose? It is good that Central is confident. Would the Belfry players want it any other way? Would they rather win the game with Centrals players thinking they could win it, or knowing they was going to lose? I personally think that players want the best from the other team.
It's not the size of the dog in the fight. It is the size of the fight in the dog.

You see.....that is what sets Belfry aside from most other schools. We do dress our freshman. They travel with the team...the dress with the team...they are just as important to the team as the upper classmen because they are the FUTURE OF THE PIRATES!! They don't always get to play...some do...some don't but, they still have the brotherhood of being a PIRATE! They dress as a team...they travel as a team...they win as a team.

Didn't JC bust them up?? And didn't Belfry bust JC up? Big Grin
#42
Yeah, but you can't judge this game from that one. Central had just traveled 3 or 4 hours and hadn't been there more than 2 before kickoff from what I've been told. Plus, there's a debate over whether or not the two teams had film of eachother, and in that case I would assume that JC would have the advantage, because of their better size. It's hard to stop a train when you don't know it's coming... And when you try to shove 11 in the box to stop Grimm, they toss a bomb to a WR and it's kickoff time again. The biggest reason Belfry was successful against JCHS is because they had disected everything JC does, and almost knew what play JC was running when they lined up. Of course, give credit to our D front, who played tough and know how to shed blockers.

We (belfry) will definitely take it home.

The kid from Central was dead-on his prediction!

BelfryPride Wrote:"All the teachers and staff kept coming up to me and saying, 'Good game. Congratulations. Thank you,' " Wadlington said. "They all want to know what we're going to do Friday. I told them, 'We're going to win it all -- for ourselves and the school.' "

Looks like they did exactly what they set out to do. Congrats Central on the win and the first state championship in the teams history and Congrats to Belfry on making it back to the carpet. Two fine teams and a great ball game.
